Position Overview

Renewed Roots Mental Health is seeking a proficient Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to become an integral member of our dedicated School Mental Health Team in Joliet, Illinois. Work Environment

This role offers a remote work setting, allowing for flexible engagement while working within a school framework. Your typical schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts and rotating weekend coverage to meet the operational needs of the school. You may also be required to provide on-call support for urgent mental health situations, ensuring a comprehensive response to student crises.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, encompassing personal histories, presenting issues, and relevant risk factors.
• Collaborate with students to develop tailored treatment plans that emphasize emotional well-being and effective integration into the school environment.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy, to effectively address varied mental health concerns.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on personal growth, emotional regulation, and the development of practical coping strategies.
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners, to ensure a holistic approach to student care.
• Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and determining appropriate referrals for more intensive care when necessary.
• Educate students and their families regarding mental health issues, treatment plans, and community resources to empower informed decision-making.
• Maintain organized and detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences, contributing to ongoing education and collaboration among staff.
• Stay informed about evolving laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines related to mental health practice in educational settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will focus on addressing the mental health needs of a diverse student body, varying in age and background, offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their lives. You will engage directly with students dealing with an array of mental health challenges, ensuring their emotional and mental well-being is prioritized in an academic setting.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Must hold a current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Illinois.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally in a mental health or educational environment, is necessary.
• A comprehensive understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment approaches, and trauma-informed care practices.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting mental health assessments, accurately diagnosing conditions, and formulating effective treatment strategies.
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy utilizing diverse therapeutic methods.
• Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to perform calmly under pressure in high-stress environments.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster trust with students and diverse populations.
• Solid judgment and decision-making capabilities, ensuring adherence to professional boundaries and ethical standards.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working specifically within school settings or with youth populations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with behavioral health integration in educational systems can be an advantage.
• Knowledge of community resources and referral systems within Illinois would enhance your ability to serve students effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
