Job description

Job Description
The GMT technician supports internal and external client needs by performing manual labor in support of CUI (Corrosion under Insulation) projects.
Responsibilities
  • Proficient in the use of small hand and power tools.
  • Proficient at erecting/dismantling scaffolding.
  • Knowledge of the use of air bags for lifting pipes.
  • Removes/Installs insulation and sheetmetal on piping.
  • Perform manual labor tasks including digging, lifting, material handling, and site preparation.
  • Work effectively as part of a team in a remote/industrial environment.
  • Maintain 100% "Safety Standards and Accountability" in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
    • Maintain compliance with required HSE Training.
    • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
    • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
    • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
    • Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment.
    • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and toolbox talks covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
  • Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, preferred, or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year directly related remote GMT experience in the construction or oil & gas industry.
  • Must be able to pass 40hr OSHA Asbestos Mitigation.
  • Must be able to pass fit test to wear a respirator.
  • Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.
