The Cognitive Psychiatric Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our esteemed team in a full-time capacity. This position is structured to offer a remote work arrangement, allowing counselors to work from the comfort of their homes while collaborating closely with our onsite medical team. Your role will be essential in establishing therapeutic rapport with patients and supporting their recovery journey through comprehensive, individualized treatment plans.

• Collaborate with the Medical Director and the medical team to coordinate comprehensive mental health treatment for patients both within our facility and in the community.
• Provide in-service training on mental health awareness and intervention techniques to the medical, psychiatric, and security staff as needed.
• Actively intervene during mental health emergencies, utilizing de-escalation techniques to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• Attend commitment hearings when necessary, contributing your expertise on patient mental health assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, establishing specific goals and interventions tailored to each inmate's unique circumstances.
• Accurately document all patient interactions and treatment progress in accordance with organizational standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
• Maintain thorough communication regarding patients’ mental health histories, including verification of previous treatments and medications.
• Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports to track patient progress and organizational metrics, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with nursing and mental health teams to ensure appropriate post-release referrals and community integration.

• Master's degree or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
• Active and unrestricted LPC licensure in the state of New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of relevant counseling experience, particularly within clinical settings, is required.

• Specialization in particular therapeutic modalities such as family therapy, couples therapy, substance use disorder treatment, or trauma-focused approaches is highly preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including those with complex social and psychological needs.

The salary range for this LPC position is competitive, between $70,000 and $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
