Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Medical Director and medical team to coordinate comprehensive mental health treatment plans, integrating care from both within and outside the facility.
  • Conduct mental health training sessions for the medical, psychiatric, and security staff to ensure a unified approach to patient care.
  • Intervene effectively during mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and providing immediate support to patients as needed.
  • Attend legal commitment hearings as required, ensuring that all necessary documentation and patient details are accurately prepared and presented.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that address the specific needs of each patient, setting measurable goals for therapeutic progress.
  • Maintain diligent and confidential records of patient interactions, adhering to all health information privacy regulations.
  • Verify and review patient mental health histories and current psychotropic medications to inform treatment approaches.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on patient progress and treatment outcomes, contributing to the overall assessment and evaluation process.
  • Facilitate post-release referrals, collaborating with nursing and mental health staff to ensure continuity of care for patients after they leave the facility.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Experience
