• Develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique strengths and psychosocial needs of students and their families, ensuring that care is tailored to promote individual growth.
• Facilitate educational and therapeutic group sessions, documenting patient goals and responses to therapeutic activities, and adjusting your approach based on real-time feedback.
• Attend interdisciplinary treatment-planning meetings, contributing insights on student progress and discussing any challenges encountered, while making necessary updates to treatment plans as required.
• Effectively manage resistance and conflict during therapy sessions, including issues arising between students, families, and other stakeholders, while promoting constructive behavioral changes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with all regulatory standards, including the use of approved electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Apply the most current DSM diagnostic criteria to assess a wide range of disorders in children and adolescents, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of developmental milestones and age-specific challenges.
• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments by gathering relevant data through interviews, consultation with the healthcare team, and chart reviews, formulating relevant conclusions to inform ongoing care strategies.
• Regularly review and adjust treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments of patients’ emotional, social, and clinical needs, and respect for their cultural and spiritual values.

In this role, you will primarily work with students ranging in age from elementary to high school who experience various mental health challenges. Your focus will be on understanding their individual situations, providing therapeutic support, and collaborating with their families and school personnel to create an environment that promotes mental well-being.

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline is required.
• Must be independently licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR is required, ensuring readiness to act in emergency situations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with students, families, and educational staff.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple cases and complete required documentation in a timely manner.

• Experience in a school-based setting or working specifically with children and adolescents is highly desirable, providing insights into the educational environment and student needs.
• Familiarity with therapeutic methodologies such as behavior modification, assertiveness training, and supportive therapy.
• An understanding of community resources to connect families with additional support services.
