Job Description: - Position: Remote Utilization Review Registered Nurse - Specialty: Utilization Review - Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30) - Years of Experience: 3 years required - Note: 1 year experience in a remote Utilization Review environment or 3 years in a hospital setting - Charting System: Epic (recent use required within the last 6-12 months) - Travel Experience: Required, can be from other remote jobs - Certifications: Preferred certifications in Utilization Review Key Skills: - Acute Hospital experience (hardstop requirement) - Admission Criteria - Appeals and Denials - Audits - Concurrent Review - Continued Stay Reviews - Data Abstraction - Medical Necessity Determination per Evidence-Based Guidelines - Pre-Cert Review and Prior Authorizations - Retrospective Review - Experience with InterQual Criteria Regulatory Knowledge: - CMS Guidelines - CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding and billing - Department of Health compliance - DRG (Diagnosis Related Groups) - HEDIS Measures - HIPAA Compliance - ICD 10 Coding - NCQA Standards - OSHA Practices - The Joint Commission Standards Additional Qualities: - Knowledge of CA and Medi-Cal - Strong case management experience with HMOs, IPAs, and Medicare regulations - Flexibility to rotate between multiple facilities (3 facilities supported) - Must adhere to Pacific Standard Time Patient Care Details: - Patient Ratios: Days: 1:40 - Weekend Coverage: Every Other or Every Third weekend - Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol): At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
