Peaceful Harmony, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Licensed Clinical Counselor (LPCC) to join our dynamic team in Chula Vista, California. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about making a positive impact on mental health within the community. As an integral member of our team, you will provide critical mental health counseling services, with a specific focus on supporting individuals in crisis and facilitating their access to necessary resources.

About the Organization

At Peaceful Harmony, Inc., we are committed to fostering emotional well-being through high-quality counseling services. We believe that every individual deserves compassionate mental health support tailored to their unique needs. Our organization prioritizes a holistic approach to mental health care, integrating community resources and collaborating with law enforcement and healthcare providers to ensure our clients receive comprehensive care.

Work Environment

This position is designed for remote work, allowing you the flexibility to engage with clients from the comfort of your own space. Despite the remote setting, you will have frequent interactions with a dedicated team of mental health professionals, law enforcement personnel, and community resources. Our outpatient office provides a collaborative atmosphere, where we emphasize teamwork and open communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site mental health support by accompanying law enforcement during critical incidents to ensure effective de-escalation of crises.
  • Train law enforcement officers on recognizing and addressing mental health issues, thereby enhancing their ability to engage with individuals experiencing mental health crises.
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations in the field to assess the need for 5150/5585 applications—legal mandates for involuntary detention when individuals pose a risk to themselves or others.
  • Develop individualized action plans in collaboration with patients, outlining next steps for care and support.
  • Engage in case management by liaising with third-party organizations, including the Department of Mental Health and various psychiatric facilities, to facilitate appropriate follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of patient interactions and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Provide crisis counseling for non-violent patients experiencing mental health episodes, helping them navigate their immediate challenges.
  • Coordinate necessary transportation to mental health facilities or homeless shelters to ensure individuals receive the care they need.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role serves a diverse client population, including individuals incarcerated, at risk of arrest, or facing homelessness. You will support clients in crisis, helping them access mental health resources and create a pathway to recovery. Your interaction with various community members, including vulnerable populations, allows for a significant positive impact on their lives.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is required.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California is mandatory.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong ethical foundation and commitment to client confidentiality.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with various stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and a positive demeanor, with the ability to remain composed during challenging situations.
  • A capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Clinical experience in psychiatric settings or with mental health crisis intervention is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with local mental health resources and community agencies is advantageous.
  • Experience training staff or personnel in recognizing and addressing mental health crises would be beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $122,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package features health, dental, and vision coverage, along with retirement plans that promote your financial security.

We also provide an employee assistance program that ensures mental health support for our team members, recognizing that your well-being is vital for providing quality care to our clients.
