Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management. The pay scale for this position is $200,000-$250,000 annually, based on qualifications, experience, and location. The Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management (VP ERM) is responsible for leading the organization's enterprise-wide risk management framework, ensuring risks are identified, measured, monitored, managed, and reported in alignment with strategic objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements. As part of this function, the position will be responsible for transactional and operational counseling on a diverse range of project-related legal issues across business units in the United States, and internationally, and will oversee global claims and litigation. The VP ERM is responsible for managing and leading the contract management and oversight process of major government and commercial contracts. Additional responsibilities include direct negotiations for large, complex contracts, development, enhancement and refinement of risk management strategies, education and training for business unit leaders, project managers and staff, and support for the commercial insurance program. The VP ERM reports to the Chief Legal Officer. 

Your Role:

  • Execute a global risk management strategy aligned with enterprise objectives and risk appetite
  • Lead development of enterprise risk framework, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring across all operations
  • Maintain and oversee enterprise risk register and provide regular reporting to executive leadership
  • Oversee all phases of claims management lifecycle, including intake, investigation, evaluation, settlement, and litigation support
  • Ensure consistency, efficiency, and transparency in claims handling across all jurisdictions and business units
  • Partner with outside legal counsel and insurers in negotiations, mediations, and trials as required
  • Manage all existing contracts to maintain compliance with contract requirements and enterprise policies
  • Structure and negotiate commercial arrangements, such as sales contracts, supply arrangements, operation agreements, subcontract or sub consultant agreements, and construction management contracts
  • Develop and negotiate joint venture agreements
  • Develop and deliver training programs and executive presentations on risk and contracts management
  • Develop and implement industry best practices for risk management and contract administration 
  • Provide supervisory direction to contracts personnel in accordance with policies and applicable laws
  • Responsible for coordinating and reviewing requests for bid bonds, and performance/payments bonds
  • Responsible for managing and participating as needed with outside counsel handling claims, including contract claims, and professional liability claims. Interface with insurance providers and outside auditors as required to review claims

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Law (JD) is required
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in risk, contracts and litigation management, with specific experience serving the U.S. federal government sector desired
  • Advanced knowledge of contractual practices, policies, and procedure
  • Experience managing complex, multi-location, multi-entity or global risk portfolios
  • Experience with claims management and dispute resolution
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to successfully lead teams and interact with all levels in the organization
  • Willing to travel as required
