Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clientsโ€™ mental and emotional well-being, utilizing standardized tools and personal interviews.
  • Formulate and implement tailored treatment plans that address the specific needs, goals, and concerns of each client.
  • Facilitate individual therapy sessions with clients of all ages, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to manage a range of mental health issues.
  • Offer couples therapy that focuses on enhancing communication, resolving conflicts, and building healthier relationships.
  • Monitor and adapt treatment plans regularly to reflect clientsโ€™ progress and evolving needs, ensuring continuous, personalized care.
  • Document all client interactions accurately and promptly, maintaining detailed records in compliance with legal standards and ethical practice.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, holistic care for clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing acute distress, developing safety plans as necessary.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through training, workshops, and research to stay abreast of the latest practices in marriage and family therapy.
  • Adhere to the highest ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality and respect for all client interactions.
  • Facilitate access to additional resources or services for clients, advocating for their rights and empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Woman's Counseling Center serves a diverse clientele, including teens, adults, and couples facing various life challenges. Our therapists are trained to address an extensive array of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship conflicts. Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist through the Illinois State Board is a prerequisite.
  • Proficiency in delivering individual and/or couples therapy, with a focus on applying evidence-based techniques.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, showcasing an ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet varied needs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage client assessments, treatment plans, and documentation effectively and timely.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems for documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of direct clinical experience in a counseling or therapy setting.
  • Experience with telehealth services and proficiency in using digital platforms for remote therapy delivery.
  • Familiarity with integrating technology into therapeutic practices, such as virtual group sessions or remote assessments.
Compensation and Benefits
