What is a remote restaurant?

A remote restaurant is a dining establishment that operates without a traditional dine-in space, focusing on delivery or takeout orders only. Often referred to as a 'ghost kitchen' or 'virtual restaurant,' these businesses prepare meals in a commercial kitchen and fulfill orders through online platforms or apps. This model allows restaurants to reduce overhead costs associated with in-person dining and reach a broader customer base through digital channels. Remote restaurants have become increasingly popular due to shifting consumer preferences and advancements in food delivery technology.

How does working in a remote restaurant support role differ from a traditional on-site restaurant position?

In a remote restaurant support role, such as customer service or order management, you'll be managing guest interactions and operational tasks online or by phone rather than in person. This means your daily responsibilities focus on processing orders, resolving customer inquiries, and coordinating with kitchen and delivery teams virtually. While you avoid the fast-paced physical environment of a restaurant, strong communication and multitasking skills are essential to ensure smooth service. Collaboration is typically done through digital platforms, and you may need to adapt to varied schedules or time zones, depending on the restaurant's hours and customer base.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote restaurant manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Restaurant Manager, you need experience in hospitality management, operational oversight, and a strong understanding of restaurant business practices, often supported by a degree in hospitality or business. Familiarity with cloud-based POS systems, inventory management software, and online ordering platforms is typically required. Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills help manage remote teams and ensure smooth operations. These abilities are crucial for maintaining service quality, customer satisfaction, and efficient team coordination from a distance.

• Manage and test integrations between Salesforce and external platforms, ensuring accurate data flow and reliable system connectivity
• Configure and maintain webhooks, middleware integrations, and automation workflows using platforms such as Workato
• Support the implementation and optimization of digital experience platforms connected to Salesforce, ensuring seamless user experiences and clean data capture
• Maintain Salesforce data hygiene by monitoring incoming data from forms and integrations, identifying duplicates or inconsistencies, and supporting processes that ensure accurate and reliable CRM data
• Perform integration testing, troubleshooting and QA to validate form submissions, API connections, and downstream automation
• Collaborate with marketing, operations, and technology teams to ensure integrations align with business requirements
• Monitor integration performance, identify issues proactively, and implement improvements to enhance system reliability
• Maintain documentation for integrations, workflows, and system dependencies to support operational continuity
Qualifications
• Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator certification (Required)

• Demonstrated experience implementing and managing Salesforce-integrated forms platforms (Titan experience strongly preferred)
• Experience working with webhooks, APIs, and middleware platforms such as Workato or similar integration tools
• Strong understanding of Salesforce CRM data structures, objects, and Flow Builder
• Proven ability to troubleshoot integration issues and perform structured testing across connected systems
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote team environment
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator II and/or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder certifications
• Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or marketing automation workflows
• Experience supporting lead capture workflows or marketing technology stacks integrated with Salesforce
• Experience documenting system architecture or integration workflows
