The Veterans' Mind Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for a full-time role. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to provide essential therapeutic services focused primarily on divorce and relationship counseling to diverse clients in Reno, Nevada. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorders in clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to design individualized treatment plans that align with their personal goals and therapeutic needs.
  • Implement evidence-based methodologies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to promote effective treatment outcomes.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and the importance of self-care strategies.
  • Monitor and document client progress meticulously, making adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care tailored to individual client circumstances.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and trends in mood disorder treatments to enhance the effectiveness of therapy provided.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold legal and ethical standards in all documentation and interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve clients experiencing challenges related to marriage and family dynamics, with a particular focus on those undergoing complex changes such as divorce. By addressing the emotional and psychological effects of these transitions, you will support clients in reconnecting with their personal strengths and achieving more stable family environments.

Qualifications
  • Current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Demonstrated empathy and a nonjudgmental approach toward clients, valuing their unique experiences and challenges.
