Invitae, part of Labcorp, is seeking a US remote basted Genetic Counseling Assistant (GCA) to join their Clinical Consultation team!
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm eastern time zone.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with the lab Genetic Counselor team to support clients that order testing performed at Invitae
  • Respond to telephone and email inquiries from Invitae/Labcorp clients, health care providers, and patients (75% of the time is spent on the phone)
  • Review orders for clinical appropriateness and perform outreach as necessary
  • Contact clients to obtain pertinent clinical information and communicates with clients throughout the testing process
  • Participate in or take leadership of particular operations and development projects as required

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a biological life science

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 or more years experience working as a Genetic Counselor Assistant
  • 1 or more years experience working in a clinical genetics testing laboratory with next-generation sequencing
  • 1 or more years customer service experience
  • 1 or more years experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)

Additional Job Standards:
  • Familiarity with genetic concepts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively
  • Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others and work cooperatively and effectively to set goals, resolve problems and make recommendations
