This position is primarily remote. However, occasional on-site attendance of meetings at Health System locations between Charlottesville and Manassas, Virginia is expected. Remote work for candidates residing in the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Florida. The Financial Analyst Senior' responsibilities include but are not limited to the following assistance with internal and external financial reporting, accounting and transactional research and analysis, net revenue analysis, accounts receivable reserve analysis and development, cash collections analysis, assisting with the coordination of the annual external audit, completion of financial surveys, various month-end closing duties, and participation in the annual budgeting process.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation:

4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis role required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure:

CPA license or eligibility.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required:

Proficient in Excel. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical and research skills.

Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred:

Experience with interim and annual financial reporting. Experience with PeopleSoft or Workday Financials. Experience with Anaplan. Experience with database queries and reporting. Experience with net revenue and accounts receivable reserve analysis.

Competencies:
  • Financial Acumen: Conducts financial analyses.
    • Performs computations using advanced mathematical formulas or equations.
    • Develops and produces ad hoc financial reports for users throughout the organization.
    • Assists with the completion of financial surveys, month-end closing duties, and in the annual budgeting process.
  • Quality Improvement: Assists in efforts to improve the quality of financial services.
    • Applies financial accounting standards to specific transactions/situations/scenarios.
    • Evaluates/Assesses/Complies with Internal Controls for financial systems.
    • Assists with the coordination of the annual external financial audit.
  • Collaboration: Works with staff across departments for internal and external financial reporting, accounting, and transactional research.
    • Works with study coordinators, regulatory team members, leaders, and finance to reconcile any discrepancies in data entered into the financial systems.
    • Prepares financial reports, as directed by leaders and executives.
    • Provides financial quality assurance and reporting analysis for metrics across departments.

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

The base compensation range for this role is  $31.62  - $50.35 hourly.

Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.  Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
