Financial Analyst

Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support.
Financial Analyst Job Description:
The Financial Analyst will partner with technical counterparts to facilitate effective project execution through cost management. The focus is on accurate, complete and responsive reporting.
Financial Analyst Required Skills:
  • Perform various weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Moderate understanding of financial concepts
  • Ability to interpret financial data to determine impacts to the overall program and to recognize patterns or gaps in patterns that indicate further investigation is needed
  • Ability to debug financial calculations using common sense and recalculation
  • Ability to conceptually understand calculations and tasks and use that understanding to propose process improvements and new processes

Financial Analyst Highly Desired Skills:
  • Familiar with Earned Value Management (EVM) calculations
  • Experience with "baseline" calculations and analyses (i.e. actuals vs. baseline comparisons) for time and material government contracts
  • Experience in government contracting and risk management (i.e. financial compliance with respect to DCAA regulations)
  • Conduct bottoms-up and top-down cost estimating for annual contract years, and additional scope as requested by the Customer
  • Perform variance analysis and review justification for control accounts that have exceeded cost or schedule thresholds and ensure funding is properly allocated and tracked.
  • Support preparation of DCMA surveillances
  • Support the effort of finalizing the end of the contract year expenditures
  • Create Ad Hoc reports on an as needed basis
  • Ability to quickly and accurately learn new calculations based on prior examples and instruction.

Financial Analyst Additional Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field of discipline
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks and balance projects within cost and time constraints
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while also possessing a strong ability to cooperate and work with a team
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a DoD Secret Clearance which means you must be a U.S. Citizen.
