Soundview Consultants, a Trinity Consultants team, is a respected environmental firm with over 15 years of service in the Pacific Northwest. We specialize in land and marine use planning, permitting, and ecological assessments near wetlands, streams, and shorelines. Our team supports diverse clients across the Puget Sound region with expertise, integrity, and a collaborative spirit.

Soundview Consultants and WestLand Engineering and Environmental Services are seeking a Senior Project Manager to add to our Pacific Northwest team! The Senior Project Manager provides leadership and oversight to project teams across our Pacific Northwest wetland resource program. This role manages client relationships as a strong and experienced trusted advisor, ensures delivery of high-quality projects, and mentors project managers and team members. Senior Project Managers are responsible for achieving financial performance goals, maintaining technical quality, and guiding teams to deliver projects on time and within budget while fostering professional growth and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be experienced in private environmental consulting and will have a strong background in wetland assessments and permitting in Western Washington. This position may be based in either our Gig Harbor or Mount Vernon office.

What will I be doing?

  • Communicate project goals, status, and risks to stakeholders while establishing protocols and using delegation tools to maintain clarity and accountability.
  • Develop realistic budgets, track expenditures, and partner with Project Controllers to manage financial performance and address variances.
  • Produce or oversee superior technical deliverables by implementing QA/QC procedures, mentoring staff, and ensuring products meet client and regulatory expectations. (e.g., wetland delineations, biological assessments, and mitigation plans).
  • Manage resources by creating staffing plans, coordinating with leadership, and capturing resource needs in company tools to support project success.
  • Identify and communicate project deviations early, prepare clear change orders, and adjust resources or scope to restore project goals.
  • Navigate local, state, and federal permitting processes (e.g., local critical area ordinances, SEPA/NEPA, Clean Water Act)
  • Complete close-out procedures, conduct debriefs, capture lessons learned, and prepare project summaries for marketing and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate self-management by modeling professionalism, supporting open communication, complying with policies, and fostering collaboration across departments.

What qualifications are required for this role?

  • B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, or related field
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in wetland science or resource permitting in Washington State
  • Four (4) or more years of project management experience in private environmental consulting
  • Expertise with the USACE Wetland Delineation Manual and WA State Wetland Rating Systems
  • Experience obtaining Nationwide Permits and Individual Permits under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 401 Water Quality Certifications, and Administrative Orders with the Washington State Department of Ecology
  • Experience with mitigation planning, restoration design, or functional assessments is a plus
  • PWS certification preferred, but not required
  • Valid WA driver's license and ability to navigate variable field conditions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; GIS/GPS experience preferred
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills
  • Experience with Deltek VantagePoint considered an asset

The wage range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 per year depending on education and experience.
