Job Summary
The Regional Operations/BOP Manager, Wind is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and financial results of a portfolio of wind assets within an assigned region. This role has full accountability for site operations and BOP activities, including safety, compliance, production performance, and O&M and capital budget execution. The Regional BOP Operations Manager is also responsible for technical oversight of the Balance of Plant (BOP) infrastructure across TerraForm Power's Texas wind portfolio.
The position oversees multiple sites and provides strategic direction to Site Managers, and field teams. The Regional Operations/BOP Manager manages compliance to O&M contractual requirements. The Regional Operations/BOP Manager partners closely with Asset Management, Engineering, Performance, Health and Safety (HSSE), and Commercial teams to ensure assets deliver strong financial returns while maintaining high safety and operational standards.
This role also serves as a key representative of TerraForm Power with external stakeholders, including regulators, landowners, and local communities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operational & Business Leadership
    • Lead the overall operation and performance of multiple wind facilities within the region in support of TerraForm Power strategic objectives.
    • Drive safety culture and performance.
    • Provide strategic and day-to-day direction across sites, ensuring alignment with TERP operating standards
    • Oversee outage planning, execution, and performance to maximize availability and reliability
    • Conduct regular site visits, operational reviews, safety observations, and performance assessments
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, benchmarking performance across the fleet
    • Lead regional Balance of Plant operational strategy across assigned wind facilities.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve reliability, availability and operational efficiency.
    • Develop regional maintenance strategies for substations, collection systems, transmission lines and civil infrastructure.
    • Coordinate planned outages with Asset Management, Engineering and balancing authorities.
  • Balance of Plant Management
    • Oversee maintenance planning for substations and high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
    • Coordinate switching, grounding and energizing activities.
    • Manage major BOP maintenance projects.
    • Support capital project planning and execution.
    • Coordinate vegetation management, civil inspections and transmission infrastructure maintenance.
    • Manage spare parts strategy for regional BOP assets.

  • Financial & P&L Accountability
    • Develop and execute to site O&M and capital budgets, including planning, forecasting, and execution
    • Ensure assets meet or exceed production, availability, and financial targets
    • Partner with Asset Management and Finance to optimize asset value and return on investment
    • Monitor and manage cost structures, vendor performance, and contract compliance
    • Validate and authorize expenditures
  • Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
    • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Security & Environmental policies and procedures
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including NERC requirements where applicable
    • Lead incident investigations and drive corrective actions
    • Maintain readiness for audits and regulatory reviews
  • People Leadership & Workforce Planning
    • Lead and develop a team(s) of Site Managers, and field personnel
    • Oversee workforce planning, including staffing, training, development, and succession planning
    • Partner with HR on performance management, engagement, and employee relations
    • Support development of technical talent pipelines, including partnerships with local schools and training programs
    • Foster a culture aligned with TERP's ownership mentality and Ways of Working
  • Stakeholder & Community Engagement
    • Serve as a primary interface with landowners, local communities, regulators, and external partners
    • Represent TERP in maintaining strong community and stakeholder relationships
    • Support permitting, compliance, and public-facing initiatives as needed
  • Contractor & Vendor Management
    • Oversee contractor performance and ensure alignment with safety, quality, and cost expectations
    • Manage and execute service agreements, contracts, vendor relationships, P2P processes
    • Ensure effective work management processes, including use of CMMS systems
    • Collaborate with project management team in execution of assigned projects

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in renewable energy, power generation, or industrial operations
  • Experience managing multiple sites or complex operational portfolios
  • Direct experience in wind operations and maintenance (O&M)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with NERC-regulated assets and compliance frameworks
  • Familiarity with work computer based maintenance management systems (e.g., Maintainly, Maximo), contractor oversight, and capital project execution
  • Proven experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Demonstrated leadership of geographically dispersed teams
