RTX has an opening for SAP Transportation Management Functional Consultant role. Are you interested in playing a key role in defining the future of Aerospace and Defense?  We are seeking an experienced SAP Transportation Management (TM) Functional Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP TM configuration and functional design, along with strong hands-on experience integrating SAP TM with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and other SAP modules. You will work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams to design, configure, and optimize transportation processes that drive efficiency and business value. 

The OneRTX: Process & Systems Transformation Program will harmonize key business processes, associated tools, metrics, and reporting across the company, enabling the migration of capabilities into standardized ERP systems. RTX has chosen SAP’s S/4HANA to enable our future ERP system and has largely concluded the strategic definition and design phase and is now entering the initial blueprinting, build and support phases. The ideal candidate for this role requires strong understanding of the business process, good project management skills, and the ability to act effectively interface with business stakeholders. 

What You Will Do:

  • Design, implement, and support SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) solutions to streamline Logistics and Warehouse functions in optimizing logistics processes, and ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules.

  • Lead the functional design, configuration, and implementation of SAP TM solutions.

  • Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into system solutions aligned with SAP best practices.

  • Design and configure transportation planning, execution, charge management, and freight settlement processes.

  • Integrate SAP TM with SAP EWM, SAP ERP (SD, MM, LE), and external systems (e.g., carriers, 3PLs).Support end-to-end solution testing, user training, and post-go-live stabilization.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data and process integration.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, providing continuous process improvement recommendations.

  • Prepare detailed functional specifications for technical developments (interfaces, enhancements, reports).Conduct workshops where standard SAP TM process would be demonstrated and then to work with business users to gather and analyze logistics and warehousing requirement.

  • Work with Global Trade and Services team for integration.

  • Provide user training, documentation, and ongoing support.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business, technical, and client stakeholders.

  • Manage multiple tasks independently and provide proactive support in a dynamic environment. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

  • Hands-on experience as an SAP TM Functional Consultant (preferably with implementation and support exposure).

  • Proficiency in SAP S4 HANA, TM configuration Experience with integration of EWM, SD, MM, and LE.

  • Strong experience with  S/4HANA TM (embedded or standalone). 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proven experience integrating SAP TM with SAP EWM, including order management, freight units, and warehouse task execution.

  • Deep understanding of Transportation Planning & Execution, Charge Management, and Freight Settlement.

  • Familiarity with BOPF framework, PPO (Post Processing Office), and PFO (Process Freight Orders).

  • Exposure to SAP Integration Suite / PI/PO / CPI for TM-EWM and TM-ERP integration.

  • Understanding of logistics business processes and transportation networks.

  • SAP TM certification is a plus.

Role Type: Remote

This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
