• Conduct comprehensive counseling sessions through telehealth platforms with patients diagnosed with chronic pain conditions.
• Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, and nutritionists, to formulate and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
• Serve as a health coach by guiding patients through lifestyle modifications which may include dietary changes, exercise routines, and stress management techniques.
• Empower patients by equipping them with necessary skills to actively engage in their pain management journey, fostering a sense of ownership and resilience.
• Provide empathetic support to help patients navigate emotional challenges associated with chronic pain, guiding them through cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness practices.

The primary focus of this role will be individuals facing chronic pain as a result of various underlying health conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and post-surgical pain syndromes. You will support a diverse clientele, including different age groups, socio-economic backgrounds, and cultural contexts, tailoring your approach to meet each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. Your ability to create a trusting therapeutic relationship will be paramount in promoting their recovery and enhancing their quality of life.

• A Master’s Degree in Counseling or a closely related field is required.
• A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in Washington State.
• At least 3 years of proven experience in counseling individuals managing chronic pain and related emotional distress.
• Proficiency with telehealth technologies and the ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to an online format.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills, including the ability to actively listen and convey empathy effectively.
• Commitment to professional development and willingness to engage in continuing education and training.

• Experience in integrated behavioral health settings, especially collaborating with medical professionals.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices for chronic pain management, including cognitive behavioral therapy.
• Prior experience working with diverse populations and understanding of cultural competency in mental health care.
