Job description

OMEGA SYSTEMS JOB DESCRIPTION
OMEGA SYSTEMS
Position: Project Manager - Technology Services (MSP)
Reports To: Vice President of Service Delivery
Division: Service Delivery
FSLA: Exempt
Office Designation: Remote
This role is responsible for executing projects within established timelines, budgets, and quality standards while coordinating Systems Engineers and Project Engineers responsible for implementation. While not hands-on technical, the Project Manager must possess strong technical literacy to translate SOWs into actionable plans, manage dependencies and risk, and ensure successful project delivery. You will partner with Engineers, CSMs, Account Managers, and clients to provide clear status reporting, maintain documentation, and uphold PMP-based project management practices in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Proven ability to communicate processes and procedures clearly, manage change orders, lead teams, improve standards and templates, and build structured onboarding and operational processes that support organizational growth and efficiency.
  • Lead project delivery from SOW to closeout: develop project plans, define milestones, resource assignments, acceptance criteria, and change control processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Consolidate and prioritize multiple concurrent projects across accounts: maintain program-level roadmaps, identify conflicts, sequence work to optimize engineer utilization and client impact.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders: work with Engineers, CSMs, AMs, and third-party vendors to align expectations, scope, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Resource and schedule management: assign engineers to tasks based on skills and availability, monitor workload, proactively rebalance assignments, and support time management to meet SLAs and timelines.
  • Communication and reporting: produce and distribute regular status updates, executive summaries, project dashboards, and risk/issue logs to internal teams and client stakeholders.
  • Risk, issue, and change control: identify and document risks, own mitigation plans, manage scope change requests, and obtain approvals per governance processes.
  • Meeting facilitation and client engagement: run project kickoff, steering committee, and weekly status meetings; present technical progress in business terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Quality and acceptance: ensure engineers produce required technical deliverables (design docs, runbooks, test plans) and that acceptance criteria in the SOW are validated and signed off.
  • Continuous improvement: capture lessons learned, refine project templates, and share best practices to improve delivery efficiency and documentation quality.

Required Skills & Experience
  • PMP certification with 5+ years managing technical projects; MSP experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects and consolidating workstreams into program-level plans.
  • Technical literacy across cloud, networking, virtualization, and server technologies to meaningfully guide engineers and translate technical status for stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills: proven experience working with client executives, CSMs, AMs, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication: status reports, executive summaries, and client-facing updates.
  • Solid scheduling and resource management skills: familiarity with MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent; comfortable optimizing engineer assignments and availability.
  • Risk and change management proficiency: establish and run escalation paths, change approval workflows, and issue resolution processes.
  • Process orientation and documentation skills: create and maintain project artifacts, RACI matrices, runbooks, and acceptance checklists.
  • Comfortable with tools common in MSP environments: ConnectWise or similar PSA, IT Glue, and collaboration platforms (Teams/SharePoint/Confluence).
  • Ability to manage multiple customers and prioritize expedited activities.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings or on-site project phases.

Desired Certifications & Knowledge
  • PMP; Agile/Scrum experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and networking fundamentals is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with financial/project tracking tools and familiarity with MSP billing/renewal cycles.

Location & Schedule
  • Hybrid or remote with periodic on-site client engagements and occasional travel
  • Flexible hours to accommodate client and engineer coordination across time zones
