Job description

SUMMARY

As a Remote Instructor for the Radiography Technology Program, the faculty member plays a critical role in preparing the next generation of Radiologic Technologists through high-quality online instruction. This position focuses on delivering engaging didactic coursework in a virtual environment, supporting student success through structured learning, academic coaching, and consistent evaluation.


The Remote Instructor collaborates closely with the Program Director and faculty team to ensure course content aligns with ARRT standards, program outcomes, and current industry expectations. The instructor ensures students gain the theoretical knowledge, critical thinking ability, and professional readiness required for clinical and workforce success.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Online Instruction & Student Engagement

  • Provide effective remote instruction in assigned Radiography Technology courses using the institution's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Facilitate interactive online learning through recorded lectures, live sessions, discussion boards, and virtual office hours.
  • Foster student engagement, critical thinking, and academic progression in a distance-learning environment.


Course Development & Delivery

  • Prepare and maintain course syllabi in alignment with program objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and/or update online lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and learning activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Director to maintain curriculum with measurable learning outcomes.
  • Assist with selection and implementation of instructional materials, textbooks, and digital radiography software tools.


Assessment & Student Evaluation

  • Evaluate student performance using course objectives, exams, projects, and competency-based assessments.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student learning and improvement.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and submit grades in accordance with institutional policy.


Professional Standards & Program Support

  • Emphasize professional readiness and employment preparation as the central goal of the program.
  • Reinforce radiation safety principles and ARRT ethical standards throughout all instruction.
  • Stay current with advancements in radiologic technology, educational best practices, and ARRT updates.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum review, and programmatic improvement initiatives.


QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution (required).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience as a Radiologic Technologist.


Licensure & Credentials

  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R.T.(R)) required.
  • Must maintain ARRT credential in good standing throughout employment.
  • Full compliance with ARRT Standards of Ethics and continuing education requirements.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiography didactic course content.
  • Ability to effectively teach and evaluate students in an online learning environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and digital teaching skills.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, etc.) preferred.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Fully remote instructional position.
