Job description

Seeking Math and Physics TA for College Algebra and Introduction to College Physics.  Would hire one TA for both courses or a separate TA for each course.

3 credit courses $2500, higher with PhD

$20 - $30/hr - Experience will be considered.


Responsibilities

  • TA will hold 3 hours of office hours per week.
  • Grade weekly assignments. The expected enrollment is around 30-40 students. Position can be fully remote.
  • Grade non multiple-choice exam questions (approximately 3 exams and 3 quizzes per semester with 1-2 non multiple choice questions per exam or quiz)
  • Maintain spreadsheet with exam and assignment grades.
  • Let students know which homework assignments they are missing
  • Provide a key for homework and quizzes

Qualifications

  • Completed college level algebra with an A An advanced high school algebra course could work, depending on content covered.  If a high school course is to be considered, applicant must either have taken calculus or be enrolled in calculus.
  • Completed either a first year college physics course for physics majors and received an A  or an AP Physics course
