Job Description
Do you live and breathe Civil 3D and take pride in producing clean, accurate, bulletproof plan sets? Are you the person who catches what everyone else misses, builds templates that actually work, and quietly raises the quality of everything that leaves the office?
We are seeking a CADD Supervisor with deep experience developing civil engineering flood control, drainage, and land development plan sets in AutoDesk Civil 3D, who is ready to take the next step and build, lead, and manage a high-performing CADD group. This role is for a senior CADD professional who loves production work, is obsessive about detail, and wants ownership of CADD standards, workflows, and QA/QC across a growing practice.
Projects will include ecosystem restoration, stormwater, drainage, and roadway-related civil infrastructure across the U.S., with a focus on the south and mid-Atlantic regions. Work location will be remote, with proximity to Arkansas, Texas, or Louisiana preferred.
Hire Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote, Arkansas, Texas, or Louisiana preferred
Job Duties
  • Lead the development, production, and QA/QC of civil engineering construction plan sets, with an emphasis on drainage, grading, roadway, and site civil design
  • Serve as the technical authority for AutoDesk Civil 3D, ensuring best practices are consistently applied across all projects
  • Develop, implement, and maintain firm-wide CADD standards, including templates, styles, blocks, label sets, and workflows
  • Create and document CADD SOPs in close coordination with engineering design staff to ensure alignment between design intent and plan production
  • Build, mentor, and manage a CADD team, including task assignment, workload balancing, training, and performance feedback
  • Work directly with engineers and project managers to translate design concepts into clear, accurate, and constructible drawings
  • Perform and oversee QA/QC reviews of all CADD deliverables prior to internal and external submission
  • Support production of plans for:
    • Stream and ecological restoration projects
    • Stormwater management and green infrastructure
    • NBS-based drainage and flood control systems
    • Street, grading, and civil site improvements
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality in CADD production workflows
  • Support project schedules by proactively managing CADD resources and deliverables
Required Qualifications:
  • Extensive hands-on experience as a senior CADD technician or lead designer producing civil engineering plan sets
  • Expert-level proficiency in AutoDesk Civil 3D for civil drainage, grading, roadway, and plan production
  • Demonstrated experience developing and enforcing CADD standards, templates, and production workflows
  • Proven ability to manage QA/QC of CADD deliverables with a strong attention to detail and constructability
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising CADD technicians or designers
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering drawings, design coordination, and construction documentation
  • Experience working closely with engineers to resolve design and drafting issues efficiently
  • Familiarity with ecosystem restoration, stormwater, or water resources projects is a plus, but CADD mastery comes first
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high quality in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to set expectations and enforce standards
