Job description

About Hubs
At Hubs, we're building the intelligence layer for organizations - where anyone can build AI solutions that spread and compound across the org. Our team is growing, fast-moving, and ambitious - led by multi-exit Silicon Valley entrepreneurs with a strong track record of creating products that shape how people work.
Along the way, we get to work with some of the most exciting parts of technology today - autonomous AI, innovative UIs, and reactive dataflows. It's the kind of work where the engineering itself feels fresh and creative, with room for invention and curiosity.
Joining Hubs means working on problems that matter. You'll be building for yourself, your peers, and millions of professionals navigating the shift from pre-AI to AI-first work. The products you create will be visible, widely used, and part of a broad societal transformation in how knowledge work gets done.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior QA Lead to own quality across our AI automation platform - not just reporting bugs, but strategically ensuring that our system is resilient, performant, and production-ready at all times. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You will be in charge of defining a holistic approach to quality that goes beyond functional correctness, establish and expand automation to cover reliability, performance, and regression scenarios, and partner with engineering, product, and leadership to make quality an integral part of how we ship software - fast, but safely.
Responsibilities
  • Define a comprehensive QA strategy focused on reliability, scalability, and performance. Set quality metrics and lead continuous improvement.
  • Design and run tests that validate system uptime, load handling, latency, and degradation under stress - ensuring the platform is ready for scale.
  • Build and evolve automation frameworks to cover regression, integration, and performance testing, integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Identify systemic risks, edge cases, and user-impacting issues - prioritizing what truly matters for product reliability.
  • Execute targeted tests for areas not yet automated and collaborate with developers on internal code correctness and optimizations.
  • Validate consistent functionality and performance across different browsers, devices, and environments.
  • Log, triage, and manage issues with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention.
  • Build frameworks for measuring AI output quality and stability, ensuring predictable behavior at scale.
  • Analyze outages, incidents, and escaped defects to strengthen system reliability and testing processes over time.
  • Advocate for quality as everyone's responsibility and mentor others on testing and reliability best practices.

Requirements
We're looking for aa QA leader who can raise the bar on how we think about quality - someone who ensures the system as a whole is robust, scalable, and high-performing. You should bring:
  • Experience: 5+ years in QA, with 2+ years in a senior/lead capacity driving systemic quality initiatives.
  • Reliability Mindset: Strong background in reliability, load testing, and performance profiling - not just functional QA.
  • Automation Expertise: Proven experience building and scaling automated test frameworks, including performance and stress tests, fully integrated with CI/CD.
  • Technical Savvy: Ability to read logs, monitor metrics, and collaborate with developers to diagnose root causes of performance or stability issues.
  • Critical Thinking: Skilled at prioritizing risks, identifying failure modes, and recommending systemic fixes over one-off patches.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communicator who can align engineering, product, and leadership around quality goals and risk tolerance.
  • Startup Agility: Comfortable iterating quickly while keeping quality and reliability high.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Testing: Experience with functional, regression, and load testing automation
  • Tooling & Framework Knowledge: Familiarity with Github, Datadog, k6 and Playwright (or other similar tools and frameworks)
  • Performance & Monitoring: Familiarity with metrics, dashboards, and alerting to monitor production health.
  • Cross-Platform QA: Experience ensuring consistent behavior across browsers, devices, and environments.
  • Quality Metrics: Ability to define and report KPIs like defect escape rate, MTTR, and test coverage.

If you're excited about building a product with potential for tremendous impact at the leading edge of AI-first productivity and collaboration, we'd love to hear from you!
Benefits
At Hubs, we're committed to building not just transformative products, but also a place where ambitious builders can thrive. You'll join a fast-moving, design-obsessed team where your ideas have real impact from day one. We offer a competitive salary, a chance for participation in upside via stock plans, and the flexibility of a remote-first environment. As an early member of the engineering team, you'll help shape both our product and our culture, working alongside passionate people who care deeply about craft, autonomy, and creating experiences users love.
