Job description

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer with strong expertise in mechanisms and welded structures, along with exposure to sheet metal design, to support ongoing engineering projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This is a full-time, direct opportunity with benefits.
This role requires 5+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience, with advanced proficiency in PTC Creo and working knowledge of Windchill. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting skills, with the ability to create clear, accurate drawings, including limited-dimensioned drawings derived from fully defined 3D models.
Success in this position requires adaptability, strong customer-facing skills, and experience contributing to engineering standards and technical documentation.
Job Duties:
Perform end-to-end mechanical design activities including:
Concept development
Mechanism design and motion systems
Welded structural design and detailing
Sheet metal design (as applicable)
Component and assembly modeling
Develop designs that meet performance, manufacturability, and quality requirements
Create high-quality engineering drawings with proper GD&T, including:
Model-based definitions and limited-dimension drawings
Clear communication of critical features, tolerances, and notes
Required:
5+ years of mechanical design experience
Strong experience in:
Mechanisms and moving assemblies
Welded structures and fabricated assemblies
Strong drafting skills, with experience producing manufacturing drawings from 3D models
Experience with limited-dimension drawing practices and model-driven design
Proficiency in:
PTC Creo
Windchill (BOMs, revisions, data management)
Experience with GD&T and manufacturing drawing standards
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Preferred:
Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience in industrial equipment, machinery, or similar environments
Exposure to sheet metal design and fabrication (nice to have)
Experience contributing to engineering standards, best practices, or technical documentation
Familiarity with model-based definition (MBD) methodologies
Experience working in remote or distributed engineering teams
Exposure to design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles
Familiarity with basic structural analysis or FEA tools
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $87,360 to $99,840 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
