TELECOMMUNICATIONS CIRCUIT PROVISIONING SPECIALIST – TIRKS
Remote | 5+ Month Contract with Possible Extension
We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Circuit Provisioning Specialist to support internal network-order fulfillment, TIRKS circuit records, and transport inventory management for a major telecommunications organization.
This is a production-oriented role requiring hands-on TIRKS experience and a strong understanding of Layer 1 telecommunications circuits. The selected professional will use engineering-provided circuit requirements to create, update, validate, and maintain accurate circuit layout records, facility assignments, equipment information, and related network documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create, update, redesign, and validate Layer 1 circuit layout records in TIRKS based on engineering requirements
• Enter and maintain circuit paths, equipment assignments, ports, channels, facilities, cross-connects, and infrastructure records
• Process internal network orders accurately and within established SLA, productivity, and quality requirements
• Review circuit information for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before completing orders
• Identify and communicate discrepancies involving circuit routing, equipment, facilities, ports, channels, or network inventory
• Collaborate with Network Planning, Engineering, Provisioning, Installation, and Testing teams to clarify requirements and resolve order issues
• Support circuit records across DWDM, SONET, TDM, Ethernet, IP, switched-access, special-access, local-loop, and long-haul transport environments
• Enter or maintain DACS cross-connect and transport-facility information as required
• Manage an assigned order queue while meeting productivity, accuracy, quality, and on-time performance expectations
• Maintain accurate network infrastructure records across applicable telecommunications inventory and provisioning systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• At least two years of hands-on TIRKS experience
• Experience creating, updating, validating, or maintaining circuit layout records in TIRKS
• Knowledge of Layer 1 telecommunications circuits, transport paths, facility assignments, equipment records, ports, channels, and cross-connects
• Experience processing telecommunications network orders or circuit-provisioning requests
• Working knowledge of DWDM, SONET, TDM, Ethernet, or IP transport technologies
• Ability to interpret engineering-provided circuit requirements and accurately translate them into TIRKS records
• Experience managing a production-oriented order queue with SLA, productivity, quality, or accuracy expectations
• Strong attention to detail, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering, planning, and implementation teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience creating or redesigning complete Layer 1 circuit layouts
• Experience with OMNIvue, WMS, WFMT, BOSS, Granite, MetaSolv, or other telecommunications inventory systems
• Experience resolving discrepancies between circuit records and network inventory systems
• Familiarity with EIRG/FIRG records or related engineering and facility documentation
• Knowledge of Ciena, Fujitsu, or Alcatel-Lucent optical networking equipment
• Experience with DACS cross-connects, special access, switched access, or carrier transport networks
• Knowledge of inside-plant fiber-optic structured wiring and network infrastructure
• Previous experience supporting a telecommunications carrier or large transport network
SCHEDULE
The standard schedule is generally 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Eastern, with flexibility to work within the 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Eastern window based on the candidate’s time zone. Occasional overtime may be required.
