Job description

Job Summary:

The Information Services (IS) Project Manager will plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects.

The position will ensure this is delivered to agreed budget, time scales, specification/quality, and sponsor satisfaction to Messer IS project management methodology & standards using standard tools effectively ensuring full acceptance and ownership of the solution by all stakeholders.

To support business and IS teams in the development of business cases for initiatives by

  • clarifying scope & objectives
  • identifying potential solutions
  • recommending an appropriate solution consistent with business and IS strategy
  • providing robust costs and timescales to deliver the solution
  • documenting any assumptions
  • assessing change impact and potential risks

Work as part of a project and change management peer group across the organization to develop and improve Messer IS project methodology, standards and use of tools.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Experience of business and systems analysis
  • Experience of managing internal and external resources effectively, including remote workers.
  • Proven ability to manage a globally dispersed virtual project team of various cultures.
  • Sound technical skills or knowledge working in multiple technology disciplines
  • Experience of using a structured IT methodology & tools - full understanding and consistent use
  • Track record of managing projects successfully - with full accountability 
  • Experience of full project lifecycle – project initiation through to project close  
  • Experience in delivering an initiative which involved an objective, analysis, scope definition, plan, resources & deliverables 
  • Experience of a diverse range of projects (software development, digital transformation, infrastructure, M&A, etc.)
  • Understanding of change management tools & techniques

 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Minimum of 5 years business and IT experience

The salary range for this position is $105,000-$136,000. Messer provides medical, dental, vision, short term disability, life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits, such as, long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans.   Employees are eligible to enroll in Messer’s 401(k) Plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the company’s bonus program.
