What this job involves:
The Facilities Management Director plays a pivotal role in leading and developing a high-performing team of facilities management and engineering professionals across a distributed site portfolio throughout the US. In this position, you'll be responsible for ensuring exceptional service delivery and outstanding customer experiences while serving as a strategic point of contact for the client. This role offers the flexibility of primarily remote work while maintaining meaningful connections through client site visits (~30% travel). You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, oversee financial performance, and maintain the highest standards of facility management and workplace experience services. While we welcome applications from all qualified candidates, the ideal candidate lives in or near the St. Louis, MO or North Charleston, SC areas (or is open to relocating) due to proximity to key client sites.
What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of facilities management and engineering professionals, fostering their growth and development while ensuring consistent service excellence across all client locations
  • Oversee CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) administration throughout the region
  • Oversee comprehensive facility condition inspections and assessments of building systems and maintaining accurate account financial records
  • Partner with other Account Directors to deliver integrated maintenance and repair services, workplace experience programs, succession planning, and exceptional client and customer support
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure service delivery meets client expectations and contractual obligations, maximizing utilization of preferred suppliers and contractors
  • Serve as the primary regional interface with customers at client properties, representing JLL's commitment to outstanding customer service and relationship management
  • Drive client satisfaction initiatives by proactively monitoring service quality, addressing concerns, and implementing continuous improvement strategies for Facility Management and Workplace Experience services
  • Collaborate with Site Engineering teams to optimize asset management, resolve work orders efficiently, and strengthen partnerships with Engineering, PDS, MAC, and OP teams
  • Contribute to capital budget development and management, supporting the Account team in executing both short-term and long-term strategic projects and initiatives for clients

Required qualifications:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities management with 2+ years in director capacity
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise of facilities maintenance and operations, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, telecommunications infrastructure, furniture management, and building energy management systems
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large facilities maintenance operations and soft services delivery across multiple sites
  • Strong experience in vendor management, contract administration, and lease portfolio oversight
  • Demonstrated success in expense management, budget development and monitoring, and financial reporting for facilities operations
  • Experience in capital planning processes and successfully executing capital improvement projects
  • Exceptional customer service orientation with proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and team management capabilities with the ability to mentor and develop talent

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience managing corporate and manufacturing environments
  • Proven success managing subtenant relationships and complex lease portfolios
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and using data-driven insights to improve operations and client satisfaction
  • Familiarity with lease management systems and processes
  • Professional certifications such as FMP (Facility Management Professional), CFM (Certified Facility Manager), or similar credentials
  • Experience working with enterprise-level CMMS platforms and driving system optimization
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding key performance indicators in a multi-site facilities management environment

COMPENSATION: $200-260K BASE + 30% TARGET BONUS
This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Estimated compensation for this position:
200,000.00 - 260,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
