Job description

Founded in 2000, Pinnacle Construction Development Group, Inc. (Pinnacle) is a General Contractor based in Willoughby Hills, Ohio, concentrating on projects in the Federal Marketplace. Pinnacle is an industry leader in unique, complex, and safety-critical projects and takes great pride in our reputation of consistently delivering a quality product on time and within budget. Due to our continued growth, Pinnacle is now looking to add a highly motivated team player as a TRAVELING SUPERINTENDENT for various Federal projects throughout Ohio. Candidate must be flexible for travel to different job sites around the state of Ohio.

Due to the large amount of interaction with subcontractors, customers, and team members, the candidate should also possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. The candidate must have substantial experience in subcontractor management and coordination, scheduling, safety, and quality control. A significant background in electrical, mechanical, architectural, communications, controls, networking, fire suppression, and civil scopes is essential. Candidate must be detail-oriented, safety and schedule driven, and require little to no on-site supervision. Above average computer skills are a requirement, and the candidate must be able to read plans and specs both digitally and on paper.
The candidate must be able to pass a background check for badging and access to a Government facility. This role will be responsible for sponsoring and badging all subcontractors and visitors, as well as coordinate on-site deliveries with Government security.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Safety
    • Safety planning and awareness are to be included in all job planning and considered first and foremost in daily operations.
    • Conduct daily safety and health inspections as well as mishap investigations.
    • Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system monitoring outstanding deficiencies until resolution.
    • Maintain applicable safety reference materials and on-site SDS.
    • Implement and enforce approved safety plans (APPS, AHAs, and HASPS).
  • Quality Control
    • Responsible for all quality control on the project, including both company and subcontractors.
    • Ensure compliance with specifications and approved submittals.
    • Maintain accurate as-builts.
    • Any repetitive quality problems with a subcontractor/vendor should be called to the Project Manager's attention.
    • Verify and properly inspect all material received for quantity and quality. Ensure all material conforms with the contract documents and approved shop drawings.
    • Maintain and monitor the official submittal log; review all materials/equipment prior to installation.
    • Plan and execute work for zero-punch list and efficient project closeout.
  • Schedule
    • Be a main participant in the initial project plan and schedule to ensure total understanding and commitment to all phases of the project plan.
    • Coordinate weekly scheduling meetings with all active trades, ensuring understanding of the sequence of work critical to CPM and overall completion.
    • Expedite and coordinate the performance of vendors/subcontractors on a daily and weekly basis, calling on the Project Manager for assistance with major or unusual delivery or performance problems.
    • Plan and monitor work tasks to ensure the most efficient and effective operations.
  • General Responsibilities
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and others associated with the project.

      • Promote and maintain positive jobsite morale.
    • Develop and implement the project plan and make course corrections as required.
    • Organize job site personnel to best fit their individual talents.
    • Coordinate and supervise all company and subcontractor workforces on the project.
    • Ensure proper submittal review of all materials/equipment prior to installation.
    • Aid in the development of special construction methods for job efficiency.
    • Understand overall project budget and align communication with the Project Manager on any and all changes.
    • Maintain ACCURATE timekeeping and cost records. The next job you build may be bid on the basis of these cost records.
    • Review and sign off on field staff timesheets.
    • Observe work operations to ensure they are being performed in the best manner possible.
    • Ensure all Daily Job Logs are produced and maintained in a complete manner and uploaded to ProCore daily.
    • Develop and train other upcoming Superintendents to promote consistency within the organization and orient new personnel to the company and project policies.
    • Be sensitive to special requirements of the customer to ensure positive relationships are maintained.

Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years experience as a Superintendent in the Prevailing Wage marketplace required; experience in Federal construction, quality management work, and SSHO experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in either Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management fields are preferred, but not required.
  • Extensive experience in reading and comprehension of blueprints and specifications.
  • Experience in hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in output. Includes strong customer service skills including customer needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction assessment to aid in Pinnacle's quest for RAVING FAN clients.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with Project Manager to form an aligned team; the sum of your efforts produces a well-run and profitable project.
  • Flexibility to travel to different job sites throughout the state of Ohio.

Required Training

  • OSHA Construction Industry Safety Class with up to date First Aid and CPR Training/AED (30 Hours)
  • Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors Course Completion preferred; completion required within 90 days of employment
  • EM385-1-1 Fall Protection Training and Training for Scaffolding (24 Hours) in the past 4 years
