Empowerment Counseling Services is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselors to join our dynamic team. This position is predominantly remote but involves collaboration with colleagues who may be on-site at our detox center. • Conduct detailed assessments and screenings to identify the mental health and substance use needs of patients. Develop individualized treatment plans that address these needs.
• Provide short-term individual counseling sessions and crisis intervention support for patients facing acute emotional distress and substance withdrawal symptoms.
• Facilitate engaging therapy groups and workshops focusing on essential topics such as coping strategies, relapse prevention, and mindfulness techniques tailored to patients in recovery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical doctors, psychiatric staff, and community organizations, to ensure integration of mental and physical healthcare for patients.
• Participate in outreach activities aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues and promoting community wellness initiatives.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records, adhering to all ethical and legal standards in documentation.

The primary focus of this role is on individuals undergoing detoxification and recovery from substance use disorders. As a counselor, you will work with patients who come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, each facing unique challenges related to mental health and addiction. Your expertise will help guide them through a transformative healing process.

• A current, active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is necessary; advanced degrees are preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the complexities of mental health issues associated with addiction and a strong understanding of the treatment landscape.
• Superior communication and interpersonal abilities to connect authentically with patients, their families, and medical staff.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing a varied caseload, ensuring timely referrals and follow-ups.

• A minimum of three years of clinical experience in a mental health or substance use counseling capacity is preferred.
• Prior experience working in a detox environment or similar healthcare setting will be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient documentation and care coordination is a plus.
