About the Role:

We are looking for a hands-on, self-motivated Project Manager to join our growing Operations team. This is not a traditional desk job. We are looking for someone who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, building relationships, and seeing complex projects through to successful completion.


As a Project Manager, you will serve as the primary owner of assigned projects from the moment a client issues a purchase order through final invoicing and project closeout. You will work closely with Territory Sales Representatives, technicians, suppliers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


You will regularly visit jobsites, attend client meetings, participate in project kickoff meetings, coordinate installations, manage subcontractors and suppliers, oversee change orders, monitor project financial performance, and resolve challenges before they impact the client experience.

We offer a generous compensation package which includes unlimited earning potential. This role include a bi-weekly salary and monthly commission.


Base Salary: $50,000 - $70,000

Commission: 1% - 3% of Gross Profit for managed orders

???? What You'll Do

  • Assume primary ownership of assigned projects upon receipt of the client purchase order and manage each project through final invoicing and closeout.
  • Lead and coordinate the formal handoff of projects from Estimation to Project Management, ensuring complete understanding of the quoted scope, commercial terms, technical requirements, schedule expectations, exclusions, and project risks.
  • Develop, maintain, and actively manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and timelines.
  • Own the financial performance of assigned projects, including project budgets, profit and loss performance, gross profit, cost tracking, forecasting, and identification and mitigation of potential cost overruns.
  • Plan and conduct pre-order, pre-installation, progress, and post-installation site visits and meetings as required.
  • Coordinate progress invoicing and confirm required deposits and other commercial requirements are satisfied before proceeding with applicable project activities.
  • Review project requirements and compile, verify, and maintain the final bill of materials (BOM).
  • Issue supplier purchase orders in accordance with established company approval thresholds and procedures.
  • Proactively manage supplier lead times and coordinate materials from multiple suppliers to ensure complete and timely availability while avoiding unnecessarily early deliveries or excessive warehouse storage.
  • Track purchase orders, supplier commitments, manufacturing progress, shipping dates, material receipts, shortages, backorders, and other procurement risks.
  • Coordinate engineering requirements, drawings, submittals, approvals, and client sign-offs.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, scopes of work, equipment documentation, and other project requirements.
  • Develop detailed scopes of work for complex installations, subcontracted work, rental equipment, and projects with special requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate installation schedules, internal labor resources, equipment rentals, cranes, lifts, subcontractors, third-party services, material deliveries, and other project requirements.
  • Verify site readiness and proactively address access, safety, scheduling, material, equipment, and logistical concerns before mobilization.
  • Serve as the primary project contact for clients and coordinate communication among Sales, Operations, Service, Engineering, suppliers, subcontractors, technicians, leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project schedules, progress, changes, delays, and other material developments.
  • Own the change order process for assigned projects, including identification, documentation, pricing coordination, client communication, approval, and project financial updates, while partnering with the Territory Sales Representative and leadership as necessary.
  • Actively monitor project execution and promptly identify and resolve scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, material, and client concerns.
  • Provide onsite project support and leadership during installations and other critical project activities as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with technicians and installation personnel and provide hands-on support when necessary to achieve project objectives.
  • Coordinate with client safety representatives and YorkHoist Environmental, Health, and Safety personnel as required.
  • Ensure project records, documentation, correspondence, approvals, purchase orders, change orders, costs, and other required information remain complete, accurate, and current.
  • Conduct and participate in project closeout meetings to verify completion of scope, resolution of outstanding issues, final costs, project financial performance, and readiness for invoicing.
  • Complete a comprehensive final project review and issue the final client invoice following successful project closeout.
  • Assist with resolution of client disputes related to assigned projects after invoicing when necessary.
  • Participate in required departmental, regional, project, and company meetings.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve project execution, profitability, efficiency, client experience, and company processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


✅ Your Experience & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, construction management, engineering, business, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Significant relevant experience in overhead crane and hoist installation, industrial equipment, technical sales, field service, construction, or complex mechanical installations may substitute for formal education.
  • Previous overhead crane and hoist industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience managing complex industrial, mechanical, construction, or equipment installation projects preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated understanding of complex installations, equipment, and field operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, costs, gross profit, schedules, procurement activities, and multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, technicians, suppliers, subcontractors, sales personnel, and company leadership.
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, take ownership of results, and proactively resolve issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn and effectively utilize company business systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
  • CAD and/or SolidWorks experience is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable under company policy.



️Travel & Work Schedule Requirements

  • Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Off-shift, evening, night, weekend, and extended work hours are required as necessary to meet project expectations, support installations, address project issues, and respond to emergency situations.
  • Regular day travel between client locations and job sites within approximately a four-hour radius of York, Pennsylvania is required.
  • Overnight and out-of-town travel of up to approximately 20% is required.
  • A company vehicle is provided for business travel in accordance with company policy.



Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, and meet required productivity and attendance standards.
  • Ability and willingness to work in active industrial, manufacturing, construction, and installation environments.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights and accessing work areas using stairs, ladders, scaffolding, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other approved access equipment.

  • Ability to regularly walk job sites, climb stairs, stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, reach, and navigate uneven or challenging work environments.

  • Ability and willingness to provide reasonable hands-on support to installation personnel when necessary.
  • Ability to work in environments that may not be temperature controlled and may include exposure to industrial conditions.
