Responsibilities:
  • Planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating construction projects (HVAC/Refrigeration & Mechanical projects) from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget.
  • Preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates, critical path schedules, and quality control programs.
  • Planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitoring progress against established schedules.
  • Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Planning, coordinating, and managing effectively all Foremen, material, and equipment to meet the established budget, schedule, and scope of the projects.
  • Preparing progress reports and issuing reports to clients as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Industrial Refrigeration Experience - 2-5 years as a Project Manager in industrial piping or ammonia refrigeration environments; proven ability to lead complex mechanical installations from kickoff through commissioning.
  • Ice Rink Systems - Experience with ice rink refrigeration, floor systems, dasher board coordination, rink piping, and integration with packaged ammonia systems strongly preferred.
  • Mechanical Engineering Background - bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical field preferred; ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication details.
  • Advanced Project Scheduling - Demonstrated mastery of MS Project, including detailed task sequencing, resource loading, labor forecasting, and cost tracking.
  • Multi-Project Leadership - Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale industrial projects simultaneously across varying phases of construction.
  • Successful Project Delivery - Track record of completing major industrial piping and ammonia refrigeration installations for reputable contractors, with strong safety, quality, and budget performance.
  • Team Development - Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and elevating project teams; builds accountability and technical depth across field and engineering staff.
  • Financial Management - Advanced forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, labor productivity tracking, and margin protection.
  • Communication & Professionalism - Exceptional written and verbal communication; highly organized, detail-driven, self-sufficient, and able to operate with minimal oversight.
  • Operational Excellence - Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate fabrication, field installation, subcontractors, and commissioning activities across several concurrent projects.
