On a daily basis, you will...
  • Understand project scope and estimating requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices in project estimation.
  • Coordinate the cost estimation team.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of basic material prices.
  • Analyze data (quantities and prices) to ensure interdisciplinary consistency of estimates.
  • Coordinate with the construction group to validate installation times and indirect construction costs.
  • Prepare bases of estimates.
  • Propose allocations for design elements that are not clearly defined.
  • Analyze bids to fully understand the content of proposals received.
  • Supervise and maintain cost estimating guidelines at GCM for projects of various sizes and different phases of engineering development.
  • Provide training and information on the GCM project cost estimating process.

Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering (asset).
  • Between 2 and 5 years of experience in project cost estimation.
  • Experience in project management (asset)
  • Experienced in establishing the required deliverables for service proposals in consulting engineering.
  • Relevant experience in consulting engineering and heavy industries: metallurgy, refining, chemical or petrochemical.
  • Strong expertise in the field of construction.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation tools and software.
  • Knowledge of Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (asset)
  • Fluency in French and English required occasionally since the person will collaborate with colleagues and clients outside of Quebec, both written and oral.
