Job Description:

The L3Harris AgileEO (Electro-Optical) - Space Superiority and Imaging Systems Division in Wilmington, MA seek is actively seeking an experience Project Engineer to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a range of software and hardware development, assembly, and integration and test efforts to deliver critical space-based remote sensing systems for our customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads a project team (10-25 people) to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments.
  • Develop, oversee, and coordinate the cost/schedule/technical aspects of an ongoing engineering project within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and Customer.
  • Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, drives execution, identifies opportunities, and delivers results through achieving payment milestones.
  • Assess engineering issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities.
  • Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • Understands how to develop a schedule using Earned Value on a program with $5M-$20M in value and manage a project using the Earned Value Indicators on a DCMA surveilled program (highest rigor applied).
  • Participate in small teams and perform a wide variety of tasks to drive execution (e.g., value stream mapping activities).
  • Ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
  • Prior or current professional experience as a Cost Account Manager of $2M+ in scope
  • Professional experience supporting defense and/or aerospace programs
  • Professional experience managing projects with total budgets of $5M-$20M
  • Experience in development and integration projects
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Program Management Institute - PMP certification
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry, such as space telescope, or optical-mechanical development programs
  • Experience or knowledge of Government contract acquisition lifecycle
  • Experience with operations and/or manufacturing activities
  • Professional experience with Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Experience working with teams in a matrix organization
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices, particularly related to space systems

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $92,500.00 - $171,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
