The Opportunity

Build the Future with Us

Kick-start your career in Building Sciences with a Fall co-op placement on a team that helps buildings perform better-today and for decades to come. Based in Calgary or Edmonton, you'll get real, resumebuilding experience alongside specialists who investigate building envelope issues, improve durability, and help clients protect what matters.

This is a great fit if you're an engineering or technical college student who likes solving practical problems, wants time in the field and the office, and is excited to learn how building performance comes together in real projects.

Your Impact

  • Learn hands-on by supporting building condition assessments, site investigations, and field reviews.
  • Collect and organize photos, notes, and measurements that help diagnose building envelope challenges.
  • Assist with analysis related to moisture, air leakage, and thermal performance concerns.
  • Contribute to clear reporting by helping prepare drafts, summaries, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers, technologists, and senior specialists-asking questions and growing your skills fast.
  • Build your toolset by working with common industry software and processes used on live projects.
  • Follow safe work practices and quality standards while learning how professional consulting teams deliver results.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering or related technical/technology program (e.g., Engineering, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Building Science, or similar).
  • Comfortable with a mix of office and fieldwork, including travelling to project sites. Fieldwork may involve hands-on tasks (including working at heights) and working in a range of environments such as remote locations and varying weather conditions (within safe and reasonable limits).

  • Strong attention to detail-able to capture accurate site observations and organize information well.
  • Interest in building envelopes, materials, construction methods, and how buildings behave over time.
  • Confident communicator (written and verbal) with a willingness to learn and take feedback.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office; exposure to AutoCAD/Revit is an asset.
  • A curious, proactive mindset-you enjoy figuring things out and asking smart questions.
