Job description

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to lead business analysis efforts that connect strategic goals with effective technology solutions. In this role, you will partner with business leaders, stakeholders, developers, and QA teams to gather requirements, analyze processes, design solutions, and support delivery from concept through implementation. The ideal candidate brings strong business and systems analysis experience, technical aptitude, and the ability to translate complex needs into clear, actionable plans that drive operational and business value.

This position is well suited for a proactive, analytical professional who thrives in collaborative environments and is comfortable working through complexity and ambiguity. Successful candidates will have experience with requirements elicitation, process and data analysis, SQL, Agile practices, documentation, testing support, and cross-functional communication. This role also requires sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to influence outcomes, support users, and help deliver solutions that align with organizational priorities. This position can be remote or hybrid.

Responsibilities: 

  • Business Analysis & Requirements
    • Lead requirements elicitation and document business, functional and non-functional requirements through formal business analysis practices.
    • Analyze current systems, workflows, procedures, and operational needs to identify gaps, assess feasibility, and recommend improvements.
    • Evaluate the impact of corporate initiatives and business objectives on existing applications and processes for ways to deliver maximum value.
    • Gather and define input, output, reporting, and data requirements to support system enhancements and innovative solutions.
  • Solution Design & Delivery
    • Develop functional, conceptual, and logical design documentation, data models, and business case materials.
    • Support UAT planning and execution, including scenario development, facilitation, and traceability to requirements.
    • Maintain user engagement throughout analysis, development, and implementation, and obtain sign-off from scope through delivery.
    • Create and maintain system documentation and contribute to implementation, conversion, and change control plans.
    • Coordinate approved changes through development, testing, and production release processes.
  • Operational Support & Collaboration
    • Support operations and finance systems through implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing application support.
    • Partners with developers, operations, DBAs, project managers, business users, vendors, and consultants to resolve issues and deliver solutions.
    • Assist with complex datasets, reports, data-related production issues, and approved solution testing and deployment.
    • Evaluate packaged software and serve as a liaison for technical issues between vendors, IT, and business stakeholders as needed.
    • Research and recommend new or replacement solutions aligned to operational and strategic business needs.
  • Leadership & Communication
    • Collaborate with business partners to shape a long-term vision and drive ongoing backlog prioritization toward delivering that vision.
    • Partner with project managers, development and QA leads to lead digital product team through development life cycle.
    • Mentor and guide less experienced business analysts through work review, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
    • Support development of training materials, training plans, and user education for new or enhanced systems.
    • Ensure affected functional areas are informed and prepared for system changes, implementations, and conversions.
  • Utilizes AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency, and enhance output quality. Adopts new technologies as trained and applies them in alignment with established processes and guidelines.
  • Responsible for complying with Paradigm Information Security requirements and policies, for safeguarding Paradigm or Paradigm related passwords, and for notifying Paradigm of any Information Security incidents per policy SEC 10-12 Information Security Incident Management.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a healthrelated field, business, computer science, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
    • 10 or more years of work experience in business or systems analysis within the IT development field, with three (3) of those years in the healthcare industry; OR any combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
    • Proficient with documenting logical diagrams, flows and any other type of documentation to make consumers assimilate as-is and to-be knowledge.
    • Familiar with advanced IT concepts, IT policies, service-oriented architecture, and web services.
    • Knowledgeable designer of Intranet and/or web-based systems.
    • Good understanding & experience with relational databases & SQL.
    • Enhanced knowledge of database structure and design.
    • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, change management, and SCRUM/Agile processes.
    • Proficiency using Microsoftbased technologies, including Microsoft Office.
    • Experience working with application lifecycle or test management tools such as Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
