Job description

We are currently looking for a HealthShare Application Engineer for a 100% remote position on a large federal government project. In this role, you will support and maintain InterSystems HealthShare environments, healthcare interoperability solutions, middleware platforms, and cloud-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with HealthShare, IRIS, healthcare data exchange standards, DevOps practices, and production support in a highly available environment.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities
  • Support InterSystems HealthShare, IRIS, and Cachรฉ environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation processes to improve software delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for HealthShare applications, interoperability services, and related middleware technologies.
  • Manage certificate lifecycle activities, including updates and maintenance across production and non-production environments.
  • Support authentication and access management solutions, including OAuth, SSO, and ADFS integrations.
  • Support healthcare interoperability solutions and interfaces utilizing HL7, FHIR, CDA/CCDA, APIs, and related healthcare data exchange standards.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure platform reliability and availability.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support production HealthShare environments, troubleshoot critical issues, and ensure system availability, as required.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in information technology, healthcare IT, or federal government contracting environments.
  • Hands-on experience with InterSystems HealthShare, IRIS, or Cachรฉ, including experience supporting one or more HealthShare components such as Health Connect, Unified Care Record (UCR), Provider Directory, or IRIS for Health.
  • Experience supporting healthcare interoperability solutions utilizing HL7, FHIR, CDA/CCDA, web services, APIs, and related healthcare data exchange standards.
  • Experience automating infrastructure, testing, or deployments using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or similar DevOps technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to improve software quality, deployment speed, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience configuring, monitoring, and supporting enterprise middleware or healthcare integration platforms in production environments.
  • Knowledge of Agile/SAFe methodologies, DevOps practices, Linux/Unix administration, Apache, Python scripting, and enterprise monitoring solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Qualifications
  • Experience supporting HealthShare productions, interoperability interfaces, and healthcare integration workflows.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and AWS CloudWatch.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or similar cloud certification is preferred.
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
