Job description

Description for CEP Clinical Program Manager position

Help shape how clinicians learn to apply genomics in patient care. As the Clinical Program Manager, Clinical Education at The Jackson Laboratory, you will design, build, and refine learning experiences that prepare healthcare professionals to apply genomic science to patient care, with an emphasis on online, technology- and AI-enabled, and simulation-based activities.

You will bring a nursing lens and prior experience in nursing education to JAX's Clinical Education programs, working collaboratively with genomics experts, instructional designers, and educators to turn complex science into effective learning that makes a difference. We are looking for someone who is comfortable picking up new software and platforms independently, curious and excited about the potential of AI-enabled and adaptive learning, confident in advocating for what clinical learners need with internal and external partners, and an excellent communicator. This is a great fit for an early- to mid-career nurse educator ready to grow on a highly collaborative team. Genetics or genomics expertise is not required, but candidates should have an interest in this specialty.

JAX Clinical Education (www.jax.org/ccep) develops and disseminates clinical education for professional and trainee audiences across the country, preparing clinicians to evaluate and apply genomic in practice, as part of JAX's broader Genomic Education work spanning learners from high school through scientists.

This is a remote position (U.S. residency). Occasional travel to JAX campuses in New England, as well as other regional travel, is required.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Lead the development, execution, and dissemination of educational programs across diverse educational levels and platforms
  • Apply nursing and clinical expertise to ensure educational content is accurate, evidence-based, and relevant to patient care
  • Develop, test and refine technology-enabled learning experiences (e.g., digital modules, simulations, AI-supported activities) in collaboration with project teams, ensuring clinical relevance and learner engagement
  • Support implementation of educational programs within clinical and health system partner organizations
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and collaborations with instructional designers, communicators, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to strategic discussions aligning educational initiatives with institutional priorities and directions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Master's degree in nursing or equivalent clinical experience
  • Curriculum development and educational material creation
  • Experience supporting clinical trainees or healthcare professionals in educational settings.
  • Technology fluency across web-based and digital tools; ability to independently evaluate, adopt, and apply new software platforms.
  • Demonstrates curiosity in emerging approaches to clinical education, including AI-enabled or adaptive learning.
  • Experience designing or implementing simulation-based, digital, or technology-enhanced learning for clinical audiences (preferred)
  • Project management and resource allocation
  • Engaging diverse audiences and fostering outreach initiatives
  • Awareness of cultural nuances and the ability to adapt outreach strategies to different cultural contexts, ensuring that genomics education initiatives are culturally sensitive and respectful
