A Day in the LifeRenal Denervation (RDN) is an innovative procedure that helps patients lower blood pressure. The technique targets specific nerves near the kidneys that can become overactive and cause high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. High blood pressure is a global epidemic, affecting one-third to one-half of adults.
We are hiring a Principal Market Development Specialist to join our RDN Field Market Development Team. The Field Market Development Team supports the hypertension (HTN) patient journey to ensure the right patients have access to this therapy. The Principal Market Development Specialist is a seasoned professional with a commercial marketing or sales background, and will drive increased focus on high profile regional markets across large IDN's.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that will be responsible for introducing a new therapy that will potentially transform healthcare in the United States. Renal Denervation (RDN) has the potential to be a multibillion-dollar market globally over the next five years. The candidate for the Principal Market Development Specialist role is based in the greater Denver area. Territories are subject to change based on business and operational need.

You will partner closely with your sales, proceduralists, and non-invasive partners to educate and increase access to care for HTN patients by building awareness, program development, and strategic alignment.

A Day In The Life:

  • Implement the strategic regional IDN plan of the Field-Based Market Development team. Provide input to support shaping the plan.

  • Partner with the Field-Based Market Development Manager as well as the Senior Market Development Program Manager to address needs for content and resources for IDN/IDHN initiatives.

  • Implement the plan by partnering with West Market Development Managers who will provide the direction to Market Development Specialists (MDSs).

  • Work with the West Area Manager to ensure implementation of that plan for regional IDNs.

  • Provide specialty support calls with administration and healthcare provider (HCP) customers at local sites.

  • Work with the Sr Market Development Program Manager to implement the IDN market development strategy, following alignment with the Field Market Development Manager.

  • Represent field market development implementation during regional level engagements with IDN customers, joint with the Sr Market Development Program Manager and the Field Market Development Manager.

  • Partner with Enterprise account management team members to understand account objectives and partner with them to implement RDNs strategic plans.

  • Partner with Manager and Director Level field counterparts including sales, field clinical research (FCRS), and reimbursement economic manager (REM) team members.

  • Oversee quarterly business planning joint with Strategic Account and Enterprise counterparts, and Area Market Development Managers.

  • Utilizes the RDN customer relationship management software to input and track activity for quarterly productivity reporting and oversees reporting on IDN key metrics for the organization, joint with the Field Market Development Manager.

  • Supports and exemplifies a strong culture for the MDS Team, centered around inclusion, collaboration, customer orientation, ethics, and execution.

  • Maintains compliance, administrative, and expense requirements within the guidelines of Medtronic.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, program or market development work, sales, or sales support role (5+ years with Advanced Degree)

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Nice to Have:

  • MBA or Master's in Business, Hospital Administration, Nursing, or Life Science

  • Healthcare marketing or consultative selling experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals highly desired

  • Experience working in the CV suite of a hospital, such as Cath Lab, CV program coordinator, or CV program leadership

  • Experience in developing a new market, i.e. implementation of key tactics, execution, and performance tracking

  • Is strategic and collaborative, with the capability to work independently with limited supervision. Builds a network of trust and relationships

  • Capacity to work in a matrix organization across different teams

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
