Job Summary
The Director, Data Governance and Enablement, is a senior leader responsible for driving the enterprise-wide strategy for data governance, operational excellence, and enablement across the organization. Reporting to the Head of Data and Analytics Governance & Enablement, this role partners with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and key stakeholders to advance the organization's data management capabilities, ensure alignment with strategic priorities, and support the successful execution of enterprise data initiatives.
Essential Functions

  • Develop and oversee enterprise-wide strategies and programmatic approaches for AI Ready data governance and enablement aligned with transformation goals.
  • Lead impact analyses, readiness assessments, and stakeholder identification for major data initiatives.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for data governance programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Build and sustain coalitions with senior leaders and key stakeholders to support adoption of data initiatives.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks, resistance, and dependencies across the enterprise.
  • Design and deliver communication strategies that articulate the vision and progress of data initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Communications teams to produce high-impact materials for various audiences.
  • Direct the design and implementation of enterprise-wide training programs to build strategic competencies.
  • Partner with HR and Learning & Development to embed data governance into talent strategies.
  • Guide leadership in defining competencies for the evolving data and analytics operating model.
  • Facilitate executive workshops and forums to refine governance strategies.
  • Align data governance initiatives with Technology and Operations Services for integrated execution.
  • Establish and monitor metrics and benchmarks for data governance adoption and effectiveness.
  • Report progress and improvement areas to executive leadership and governance bodies.
  • Lead and support cross-functional teams in planning and executing multi-year data initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements."

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • Master's Degree (preferred)


Work Experience

  • 10+ years progressive experience in data management, governance, program management, or transformation leadership, preferably in banking, finance, or data-driven organizations. (required)


Physical Demands

  • General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.


Travel

  • Routine and frequent travel to include overnight stay.


Driving Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $128,000.00 - $268,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
