CNO Financial Group's Data Governance Team is hiring an IT Data Analyst who will be responsible for assembling data in a meaningful way based on guidance for data quality, data relationships, and the available data sources across enterprise domains. This role starts to build knowledge of source systems and representative domain data to draw meaningful insights that support data quality programs and other data initiatives.

This IT Data Analyst will influence data retention decisions by analyzing and querying data using SQL and internal tools to determine what should be retained or removed based on defined guidelines. You'll partner with business and data stakeholders to understand data value and impact, document decisions, and hand off clearly-defined outcomes for execution.

Core responsibilities and deliverables:

  • Gathering data transformation, integration, and quality requirements.

  • Using standard document templates to capture designs and mapping specifications.

  • Researching data and processing issues and providing input into data quality improvements.

  • Collaborating with IT and business teams to develop detailed recommendations that identify which data to retain and to remediate.

  • Cooperating and interacting with project team members and contractors to take positive action and accountability for assigned work.

  • Growing business relationships and domain knowledge that are important to the success of projects.

  • Performing analysis and data profiling to inform data requirements, data quality, data collections, etc.

  • Assisting in root cause analysis related to production support and project requests.

  • Investigating data anomalies and communicating back to the data stewards and data owners.

  • Developing skills in preferred enterprise data governance tools (such as Informatica CDGC and BigID).

What you'll need (Minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience is required.

  • 1 year of prior experience in data analysis or data governance.

  • Intermediate SQL skills required, including the ability to read, write, and interpret SQL queries.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, well-structured documentation and present to senior/executive leadership.

What will set you apart (preferred qualifications):

  • Previous industry experience is preferred.

  • Prior experience with Informatica CDGC and/or BigID is preferred.

  • Strong collaboration and the ability to build relationships with peers, management, other IT departments, and business stakeholders.

The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is also eligible for CNO's performance-based annual bonus program.

Pay Range: $60,900.00 - $91,300.00 Annual
