Remote Product Strategy information

What is a remote product strategist?

A Remote Product Strategist is a professional who develops and guides the direction, vision, and planning of a product or product line while working from a remote location. They analyze market trends, customer needs, and business goals to create strategies that maximize product success and growth. Working remotely, they collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams such as design, engineering, and marketing to ensure the product meets market demands and business objectives. Their role often involves setting priorities, defining features, and measuring outcomes to continuously improve the product.

How do remote product strategists typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product success?

Remote product strategy professionals often work closely with teams such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales through virtual meetings, shared documentation, and project management tools. They facilitate alignment by organizing regular check-ins, setting clear objectives, and ensuring transparent communication across time zones. Leveraging collaboration platforms, they gather feedback, prioritize features, and track progress to ensure that product goals are met efficiently. Building strong relationships and fostering a culture of open dialogue are key to overcoming the challenges that come with remote collaboration.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote product strategist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Product Strategist, you need strong analytical skills, market research expertise, and a solid understanding of product lifecycle management, often supported by a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with tools like Jira, Trello, Aha!, and data analytics platforms, as well as certifications such as Pragmatic Institute or Product Management certifications, is typical. Excellent communication, collaboration, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for coordinating with distributed teams and stakeholders. These competencies ensure you can effectively shape product direction, align remote teams, and drive business growth in a virtual environment.

Job description

The Opportunity

AI is rapidly transforming the world. Whether it's developing the next generation of human-level intelligence, enhancing voice assistants, or enabling researchers to analyze genetic markers at scale, AI is increasingly integrated into various aspects of our daily lives.

Arize AI is the leading AI observability and evaluation platform, empowering AI engineers to build and deploy high-performing, reliable models. As the AI landscape shifts from traditional ML to generative AI and agentic systems, Arize ensures teams have the tools to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve AI in production.

The Team

Our team is working to define the "canonical stack" for AI workflows, by solving the toughest problems in AI today: how to experiment, evaluate, understand and improve models or applications at scale in a responsible way. The product team has deep technical and strategic backgrounds from leading AI/ML companies (Uber, Cruise, Spotify, Apple) and experience shipping market leading platforms at scale. Working with this team is an opportunity to develop further as a PM leader in a rapidly growing space by collaborating with some of the best in class AI Engineers and Data Scientists in the industry.

What You'll Do

  • You will be owning, strategizing, and developing a large portion of Arize AI's core product roadmap.
  • From ideation to creation, you will be involved in all stages of the product life cycle.
  • You will be engaging with our customers directly to gather meaningful insight and feedback in order to create a world class product.
  • You will be working cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders; including engineering, design, marketing, and sales to drive our product strategy into production.
  • You will be responsible for communicating and integrating competitive analysis, usability research, and market analysis into product requirements.
  • Utilize your understanding in AI/ML/CV or related technical space in order to contribute to Arize AI's main product offering.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5+ years of relevant product management experience or previous AI/ML experience with strong product ownership in an AI-native company
  • Previous engineering and/or tech lead experience
  • Strong track record of building in a technical domain while shipping quickly and efficiently.
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty with code!
  • Experience and/or knowledge of working within machine learning, or data platforms and infrastructure.
  • Experience working directly with customers and promoting community discussions in order to gather client feedback.
  • Experience driving data-informed product strategy into production.

Bonus Points, But Not Required

  • Experience in API design
  • Early startup experience
  • Experience working with Figma or similar design tools

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $200,000-$250,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is determined based upon a variety of job related factors that may include: transferable work experience, skill sets, and qualifications. Total compensation also includes a comprehensive benefit package, including: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, unlimited paid time off, generous parental leave plan, and others for mental and wellness support.

While we are a remote-first company, we have opened offices in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area, as an option for those in those cities who wish to work in-person. For all other employees, there is a WFH monthly stipend to pay for co-working spaces.
