Job description

Introduction

Bigge Crane and Rigging has been elevating America since 1916. With over 1,800 cranes and a coast-to-coast presence, we buy, sell, rent, operate, and maintain one of the largest, most advanced crane fleets in the country. We've played a role in building some of America's most iconic landmarks and earned a reputation for doing it right-with performance, precision, and accountability.

Job Overview

Bigge is hiring a full-time Senior Full Stack Developer (Backend) to support the ongoing development of WorkPro, our internal Operations, Dispatch, Asset Management, and Field Service platform. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role with a strong emphasis on backend and API development, supported by contributing-level Angular front-end work.

The developer will be part of a small, focused product team, reporting to a Principal Developer and working alongside a Senior Full Stack Developer (front-end focus) and a Product Owner. This role is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who wants meaningful ownership of core services and data architecture, exposure to complex business workflows, and the opportunity to keep growing technically within an established team structure.

This role works across both legacy and modern software patterns. Part of the job is understanding and maintaining older C# codebases alongside building new services and integrations. Expect the majority of your time on new services and integrations, with legacy C# maintenance as a recurring but secondary part of the work.

Houston, Texas preferred. Remote available.

Key Responsibilities:

Backend & Integration (Primary Focus)

  • Develop and maintain REST APIs supporting service orders, dispatch, billing, and asset management.
  • Design and implement SQL Server-based data models, stored procedures, and queries powering core WorkPro modules.
  • Build and maintain integrations to enterprise systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Coupa, Trackunit, and Power Automate or Logic Apps.
  • Maintain and extend legacy C# codebases where needed, alongside building new services and APIs.
  • Document APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger and maintain clear, versioned API contracts for front-end and integration consumers.
  • Own workflow automation, audit history, operational reporting, and AI-enabled backend features (e.g., automated dispatch scheduling logic, predictive maintenance alerts).
  • Ensure API performance, security, and reliability across high-volume dispatch and field service workloads.

Frontend (Supporting)

  • Contribute to Angular-based UI components for WorkPro modules, including Field Service, Dispatch, and Technician workflows, in coordination with the Senior Full Stack Developer (front-end focus).
  • Implement role-based UI components for dispatchers, service managers, and field technicians as needed.
  • Support responsive, mobile-first UI work across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

Team & Delivery

  • Work within a structured delivery model with a Product Owner managing backlog and priorities.
  • Co-own backend architecture decisions with the Principal Developer; contribute directly to technical standards, not just execution.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and incremental delivery.
  • Take ownership of assigned backend features from development through production deployment.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with the majority in backend/API development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, and building production-grade REST APIs.
  • Solid experience with SQL Server, relational data modeling, and stored procedures.
  • Experience maintaining and extending legacy C# codebases.
  • Experience integrating with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, or similar business platforms).
  • Working knowledge of Angular and TypeScript at a contributing level, not primary.
  • Familiarity with RxJS, reactive programming concepts, and state management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile, team-based development environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform (Power Automate, Logic Apps).
  • Strong experience with SQL Server, including performance tuning, query optimization, and complex stored procedures.
  • Experience with Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with field service, dispatch, workforce management, or operational software.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled application features, including intelligent workflows and automation.
  • Experience with Angular 19+, standalone components, and signals.

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay and a matching 401(k)
  • Vacation, company holidays, and sick leave
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Reimbursement plan for company Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

What Success Looks Like:

  • High-quality backend features and integrations delivered consistently and on schedule.
  • Improved reliability and performance of WorkPro's API and data layer.
  • Smooth collaboration with the Principal Developer, the Senior Full Stack Developer (front-end focus), and the Product Owner.
  • Reduced reliance on manual tools and legacy processes.
  • A stable backend foundation for future automation, analytics, and AI-assisted capabilities.

Why Bigge:

This isn't another SaaS dashboard. WorkPro runs live crane dispatch, asset tracking, and field service operations that keep real equipment moving on real job sites nationwide. What you build here directly affects how fast a crew gets dispatched and how reliably a technician gets the right job details in the field.
