Job description

Company Description
At Brushfire, it's our goal to be the go-to ticketing and registration platform our customers deserve. We're an event management software-as-a-service platform that provides solutions for ticketing & registration, virtual events, and event apps. Last year we powered over 30,000 events, all around the world, ranging anywhere from a handful of people to more than 20,000 attendees.
Brushfire helps power successful events around the world by providing great software and service that never stops improving. We believe every organization deserves the most elegantly architected platform for event management, both at the technology and service layer.
Job Description
The Product Engineer is the core builder role at Brushfire and the role the engineering team is built around. A Product Engineer owns features end-to-end at the application layer: they write the PRD for their own work, make the design and UX decisions, orchestrate AI agents to accelerate every phase of delivery, and ship the result - then own its quality in production. This role is "full stack" in the fullest sense: not just fluency across the technologies, but a working understanding of the entire Brushfire platform and the organizations it serves. Product Engineers do not silo into a specialty; they take an outcome and "drive it to done," using whatever combination of their own hands and AI agents that achieves that goal.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is extremely comfortable with the latest technology, trends, and favors concrete execution over abstract ideation. We are proudly impartial when it comes to solutions - we like to try new things and the best idea is always the winning idea, regardless of the way we've done it previously.
This is a full-time work-from-home position.
Qualifications
The following characteristics are necessary for a qualified applicant to be considered:
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping user-facing product
  • Strong React (TypeScript) frontend skills - clean, well-structured components and good visual instincts
  • Solid .NET (C#) backend development - you can design an API endpoint, write a service layer, and handle edge cases
  • MSSQL proficiency - query optimization, schema design for new features, and a working understanding of indexes and execution plans
  • Demonstrated, transformative use of AI agents in a real delivery workflow - you can walk through substantial features shipped through agent orchestration under your direction, and articulate how you decompose, direct, and verify that work
  • Strong product sensibility: you take underspecified problems, interrogate the user need, write PRDs engineers and stakeholders can act on, and make sound design decisions without a designer
  • Comfortable working in a remote, async-first environment with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience with Github (or other similar version control systems) and CI/CD pipeline tools like Azure Devops and Github actions
  • Ability to communicate fluently, pleasantly, and effectively-both orally and in writing, in the English language-with customers and co-workers.
  • Concrete examples and evidence of work product and what role the applicant played in it

The following characteristics are not necessary but are highly desired:
  • React Native familiarity (enough to review mobile PRs meaningfully)
  • Firebase/Firestore experience (pub/sub, realtime database)
  • Auth0 or similar identity platform experience
  • Experience with ASP.NET MVC / Razor Views / jQuery (legacy modernization experience a plus)
  • Experience authoring agentic workflows, MCP integrations, or AI tooling adopted by a team
  • Familiarity with Shortcut, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
  • MongoDB experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related technical field
  • Ability to contribute to strategic and planning sessions around architecture and implementation
