As a Key Account Executive -Facility Solutions, you will help Staples customers create cleaner, safer, and more productive workplaces by growing Jan/San, Breakroom, Safety, and Facility Supplies solutions within existing Enterprise accounts. This remote, field-based role supports customers throughout the Minneapolis, Minnesota market and is ideal for a consultative sales professional who enjoys building trusted relationships, uncovering operational challenges, and delivering measurable value. You will partner closely with sales leaders, account teams, manufacturer representatives, and customer stakeholders to drive growth, expand wallet share, and position Staples as a strategic partner for facility and workplace solutions.

This is a remote position with a regional focus. This position supports customers in Minneapolis, MN. While the role primarily supports working from home, the individual performing this role would live within or adjacent to this region.

What you'll be doing: 

  • Collaborate with Sales Managers to develop and execute strategic growth plans for Facility Supplies within the assigned market.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Jan/San, Breakroom, Safety, and Facility Solutions products, services, and customer value propositions.

  • Conduct joint sales calls with manufacturer representatives and internal partners to uncover opportunities and accelerate customer adoption.

  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations, facility assessments, and product demonstrations that connect customer needs to Staples solutions.

  • Participate in account reviews and customer planning sessions to identify expansion opportunities and deliver additional value to existing customers.

  • Build relationships with key decision-makers across operations, procurement, facilities, environmental services, and executive leadership teams.

  • Provide consultative recommendations that help customers improve operational efficiency, cleanliness, safety, and total cost management.

  • Partner cross-functionally to support customer implementation, issue resolution, and ongoing account growth.

  • Share market feedback and category expertise to support product assortment decisions, training initiatives, and program development.

  • Consistently achieve and exceed revenue, gross margin, retention, and penetration goals across the Facility Solutions portfolio.

What's needed- Basic Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 4 years of outside sales experience.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

  • Residence within or adjacent to the Minneapolis, Minnesota market to support customer and sales team engagement.

What's needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.

  • Experience selling Facility Supplies, Jan/San, or related product categories.

  • Knowledge of facility maintenance, cleaning, sanitation, and workplace safety solutions.

  • Experience conducting customer assessments, product demonstrations, and sales training programs.

  • Experience working within large enterprise accounts or key account sales environments.

  • Familiarity with strategic account planning, procurement processes, and contract-based selling.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses or other forms of variable compensation.
