What is a Remote Process Improvement specialist?

A Remote Process Improvement specialist is a professional who identifies, analyzes, and optimizes business processes while working remotely. Their main goal is to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall organizational performance by evaluating current workflows and recommending changes. These specialists use various methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, to streamline operations and often collaborate with cross-functional teams using digital tools. Their remote role allows them to implement solutions and drive improvements without being physically present at the workplace.

What Are Remote Process Improvement Jobs?

A remote process improvement specialist works in a company or organization to help them improve efficiency and productivity. You work from home to help a client plan improvements or perform an analysis of their production method. A continuous improvement specialist, a related work from home position, continually seeks ways to improve productivity and efficiency through process changes, organizational improvements, or professional development. Your duties and responsibilities vary depending on the industry. A process improvement specialist in manufacturing focuses on production methods, while those in IT or business concentrate on operations, team building, skills acquisition, and time management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Process Improvement Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Process Improvement Specialist, you need expertise in process analysis, project management, and data-driven decision-making, often supported by a degree in business or engineering and certifications like Lean Six Sigma. Familiarity with process mapping tools, workflow automation software, and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Visio, Jira, or Trello is typically required. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills help drive change and foster team engagement in a virtual environment. These abilities are crucial for identifying inefficiencies, implementing sustainable improvements, and achieving organizational goals remotely.

Senior RPA Developer - Automation Anywhere (IT)

The Senior Developer, RPA, serves as a senior technical expert for the Robotic Process Automation Center of Excellence (RPA CoE). This role is responsible for the technical integrity and delivery of the automation portfolio, providing a bridge between strategic leadership and team execution. The developer focuses on the technical realization of Intelligent Automation (IA) initiatives, ensuring that the team builds stable, high-quality solutions that align with the program's long-term roadmap.

The role focuses on hands-on execution and delivering measurable results that advance strategic technology initiatives. Assists team with high-priority production escalations as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Intelligent Automation & Agentic Solution Delivery:

  • Lead the hands-on development and configuration of high-complexity automations including traditional RPA, but with a focus on the transition to Agentic workflows (LLM-based agents, autonomous decision-making loops).
  • Design and implement advanced integrations involving but not limited to Document Intelligence (IDP), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI to solve complex healthcare business problems that classic RPA cannot address.
  • Conduct rapid prototyping and technical feasibility assessments for emerging automation technologies, acting as the primary engineer for "first-of-its-kind" solutions before transitioning them to the broader team for scaling.

Technical Leadership & Quality Oversight

  • Serve as the technical lead for the development team; provide high-level guidance on complex logic and ensure the team is successfully adopting IA and Agentic design patterns.

  • Perform deep-dive code reviews and architectural validations to ensure offshore deliverables meet DaVita's standards for security, performance, and intelligent design.

  • Assist with documentation, best practices, and reusable code libraries for advanced automation components.

Strategic Production Integrity & Incident Oversight

  • Act as technical point of contact during U.S. afternoon hours for critical production failures; provide clear, timely status updates to business stakeholders regarding the progress of technical resolutions.

  • Translate complex technical "breaks" into understandable Root Cause Analysis (RCA) summaries for non-technical partners, ensuring they understand the cause for and resolution of production issues.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Identify, develop, and recommend best practices and process enhancements to improve efficiency and operational excellence.

  • Propose innovative solutions to reduce technical debt and optimize workflows.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and project management methodologies.

Education and Requirements

Educational Background:

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in technology delivery, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in RPA and Intelligent Automation.
  • Mastery of at least one major RPA platform (Automation Anywhere strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with Agentic/AI frameworks (e.g. Python, LLMs, and API integration) is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage organizational change and facilitate the adoption of modern technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence)
  • Proven success in providing technical oversight to development teams.
  • Good understanding of engineering tools and experience working within technology teams.

Technology Project Delivery & Portfolio Management Methodologies Proficiency:

  • Hands-on experience utilizing project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Practical experience with Agile, Scrum, or other recognized project delivery methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects concurrently within a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of technology portfolio management principles and governance frameworks.

Process Improvement:

  • Familiarity with process improvement techniques and methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and process mapping.

Communication, Collaboration, and Influence:

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically disbursed teams and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Preferred: Professional certifications such as Automation Anywhere Certified Master RPA Professional (Automation 360).

Travel and Time Requirements

  • This role may require a mix of remote and in-office work, travel to DaVita locations, Vendor or project sites, and flexibility to accommodate project needs across time zones.
