Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Reimbursement Analyst to join our team!  This full time remote position will support the Revenue Cycle Department at our 3001 E. President George Bush Highway Suite 100 location in Richardson, Texas.  Typical work week is Monday through Friday working a flexible eight hours between 6:00a - 5:00p.

What Does the Analyst I – Reimbursement do?
Working under limited supervision, prepares and submits patient claims to appropriate third party payers. Reviews claims to ensure that payer specific billing requirements are met. Follows standard procedures and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values. This position reports to the Director of Charge Entry and Revenye Cycle Support Services. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Conducts detailed monthly payor audits to identify trends in reimbursement issues of payors. Conducts ad-hoc analysis in support of managed care activities.
  • Prepares and analyzes reports on reimbursement trends Documents and communicates findings to managed care and practice management teams to ensure optimal reimbursement.
  • Assists contract managers with renegotiations of fee schedules; provides information to validate proposed fee schedule changes.
  • Participates in quarterly provider relations meetings with health plan representatives to discuss reimbursement issues.
  • Updates and maintains reimbursement schedule information on the shared server as contracts are renegotiated.
  • Performs analysis and reimbursement functions in strict accordance to HCFA regulations and all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of patient and financial information in assigned area of responsibility.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience: 

  • Associates degree in Finance, Accounting or related business degree

Or

  • Four (4) years of related work experience

and

  • A minimum of four additional years experience in healthcare reimbursement, managed care or finance; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Prior experience in statistical and financial analysis required.
