Job description

Staff Auditor / Senior Auditor

We operate in a hybrid work environment where remote work is common. However, occasional travel to client sites or company offices may be required for meetings, training, or project-related needs. Preference will be given to candidates who live within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington, D.C. However, qualified candidates outside the local area will also be considered.

DP George & Company is seeking Staff and Senior Auditors to support advisory and audit engagements within the federal government sector. Candidates with an active secret or higher security clearance are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Support financial, compliance, and performance audit engagements

Conduct audit testing and analyze financial and operational data

Evaluate internal controls and identify areas for improvement

Develop audit findings and recommendations

Research and apply relevant accounting, auditing, and regulatory guidance, including GAAP, FASAB, OMB requirements, and Government Auditing Standards

Review transactions, records, reports, and business processes for accuracy and effectiveness

Document policies, procedures, and control activities

Assist in preparing audit reports, workpapers, and client deliverables

Collaborate with team members and clients to support project objectives

Qualifications

U.S. Citizen

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

CPA, CPA candidate, or interest in pursuing professional certification preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Ability to travel approximately 5–10% annually

Compensation

Staff $65,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience.

Senior $75,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience
