The Pricing Analyst II- Change Order & Modifications will be responsible for preparing cost and price proposals of simple to medium complexity utilizing the principles of cost accounting standards and the Company's Estimating System under general supervision from senior pricing personnel. This includes working closely with team members in an often-dynamic quick turn environment on solicitation requirements and regulatory compliance of all proposals. The ideal candidate is highly inquisitive, demonstrates a solid understanding of financial principles, meticulous attention to detail, and excels in building strong partnerships across the organization.

This is a remote position; a candidate local to an Amentum HQ facility (Chantilly, VA or Fort Worth, TX) or with the ability to travel is preferred. US citizenship is required.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with Operations, Business Development and Functional Support groups to obtain/develop data necessary for developing prices or other components of a cost/price volume
  • Prepares cost/price volume responses for simple to medium complexity proposals
  • Ensures compliance with the estimating system manual as well as other policies and procedures
  • Performs quality assurance reviews to ensure that cost/price volume components are accurate and responsive to solicitation requirements
  • Provides pricing guidance and support, as required, to field personnel performing pricing related activities
  • Capable of building accurate cost models based on provided guidelines and requirements, as well as modifying and updating existing templates to meet specific objectives and desired outcomes
  • Provide training and guidance to junior pricing team members as required while fostering collaboration with senior-level pricing professionals to ensure best practices and optimal outcomes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of proposal development with a working knowledge of the components of basis of estimates (BOE) and bills of materials (BOM).
  • Able to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of high-quality material with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, while producing polished and professional-quality work products.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Data-driven and continuous learning mindset - Candidates should demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly, including leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks, synthesize information, improve communication, and accelerate problem solving while maintaining human judgment and accountability.
  • Ability to evaluate and apply emerging technologies - Candidates should be comfortable assessing new AI-enabled tools and processes, identifying practical use cases, validating outputs, understanding limitations/risk, and incorporating AI responsibly into day-to-day work.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of AI and its potential for integration into workflows - Candidates should have some experience using AI tools to enhance workflows, productivity, decision-making, customer experiences, business outcomes, or operational efficiency.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and mathematical skills.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be an effective communicator within various levels of the organization

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline
  • Three (3) years' experience in cost proposal preparation or cost proposal development; relevant finance experience may be considered for some years in lieu of cost proposal preparation and development
  • Additional experience may be substituted for education (generally 2 years of experience equals 1 year of education)
  • US Citizenship is required to apply.

Compensation Details:

$75k - $94k
