What is a Remote Power Platform job?

Remote Power Platform jobs involve working with Microsoft's Power Platform suite of toolsβ€”Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agentsβ€”from a location outside of a traditional office setting. Professionals in these roles design, develop, and manage business solutions that automate processes, visualize data, and build applications without needing to be on-site. These positions are suited for those with experience in low-code/no-code platforms and require strong problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate virtually with teams and clients. Remote Power Platform roles are popular in industries seeking digital transformation and operational efficiency.

How does a Remote Power Platform professional typically collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams?

Remote Power Platform professionals often work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective low-code solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and related tools. Collaboration usually involves virtual meetings, demos, and feedback sessions using platforms like Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. They also coordinate with development teams, IT, and end-users to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and integrate well with existing systems. Effective communication and documentation skills are essential for aligning project goals and resolving issues promptly in a remote setting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Power Platform professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Power Platform professional, you need expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), a background in data analysis or software development, and often a relevant certification such as Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Dataverse, Azure services, and connectors, as well as experience with DAX, Power Query, and APIs, is typically required. Job description

Help Michigan Families Unlock the Power of Virtual Learning
Location: Remote (United States, excluding Pacific Time Zone) | Reports To: Enrollment Coordinator / Enrollment Team Leader
Pay Rate: $17.95/hour ($19.73/hour with a Bachelor's degree)
Why You'll Love This Role
At My Virtual Academy, we don't just enroll students - we open doors. Since 1991, we've been helping K-12 learners and young adults across Michigan discover a tuition-free path to graduation that fits their life, their pace, and their dreams. As our next Enrollment Specialist, you'll be the trusted guide who shows families how flexible, accessible online learning can transform their child's educational journey. If you love connecting with people, telling a great story, and turning hesitant inquiries into excited "yes, we're in!" moments, this role was made for you.
About My Virtual Academy
We're a mission-driven team committed to increasing graduation rates and reimagining what K-12 education can look like. Our tuition-free virtual classes, 24/7 access to learning materials, and dedicated tech support give every student the chance to succeed on their own terms-wherever they are in their journey. When you join My Virtual Academy, you're not just filling a role: you're helping shape brighter futures, one family at a time.
The Opportunity
The Enrollment Specialist is the face and voice of My Virtual Academy for prospective families. You'll combine the warmth of a trusted advisor with the drive of a top-performing sales pro-building real relationships, painting a vivid picture of what online learning makes possible, and walking parents and students through every step of the enrollment journey. From the first phone call to a fully approved enrollment, you'll be the reason families feel confident, supported, and excited about their choice.
What You'll Do
Sell the Vision
  • Connect with prospective families by phone, text, and email - listening to their goals, addressing concerns, and showing them how My Virtual Academy can be the right fit.
  • Craft compelling, personalized conversations that highlight the flexibility, accessibility, and life-changing impact of our tuition-free K-12 online programs.
  • Follow up on recruitment leads daily, turning interest into action and keeping the enrollment pipeline moving with energy and momentum.
  • Confidently overcome objections, answer tough questions, and serve as a passionate advocate for online education.

Implementation & Relationship Management
  • Proactively manage customer relationships to drive program adoption, retention, and long-term student success.
  • Develop and nurture meaningful relationships with prospective and current students and their parents throughout the enrollment lifecycle.
  • Serve as a steady, trusted point of contact - building rapport, earning trust, and creating an experience families want to recommend to others.

Family Support
  • Guide families through enrollment from start to finish, including application, student documentation, eligibility review, and final approval, ensuring smooth program adoption.
  • Gather, organize, and process all necessary documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Assess and determine program eligibility based on specific district and program guidelines.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries with warmth, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with School Partnership, Pupil Accounting, and Teachers to align on customer needs and cultivate expansion opportunities.
  • Share family insights with internal teams to continuously improve the enrollment experience.
  • Maintain detailed, current knowledge of all My Virtual Academy programs and policies to deliver accurate, confident information to every stakeholder.

Operational Excellence
  • Maintain organized, accurate records in our SIS (Genius) and CRM (Salesforce) platforms.
  • Demonstrate initiative and accountability in resolving concerns and issues that arise during enrollment.
  • Ensure full compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

What You Bring
Required
  • High school diploma.
  • At least 1 year in a technical support or customer success role.
  • Ability to master our SIS (Genius) and maintain organized records across SIS and CRM platforms.
  • Superior presentation and interpersonal skills for engaging parents, students, and staff.
  • A genuine dedication to K-12 online education and increasing graduation rates.
  • Successful completion of physical, drug screen, and background check.

Preferred
  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Experience in K-12 education or edtech (admissions, recruitment, youth development, or social services).
  • Background in sales, account management, or consultative customer success.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce (or comparable CRM).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365.

Benefits & Perks
We invest in our team because we know great people power great outcomes for students. Here's a snapshot of what you'll enjoy as part of the My Virtual Academy family:
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) - recharge, reset, and take care of what matters.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - confidential support for life's ups and downs.
  • IRA and wellness initiatives - plan for your future and prioritize your well-being.
  • Educational benefits after one year - keep learning and growing with us.
  • Paid volunteer hours - give back to causes you care about, on the clock.
  • Professional growth opportunities and ongoing training - build your career while you build futures.

Work Environment
This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the U.S., excluding the Pacific Time Zone. The schedule includes one evening shift per week to better support working families during the enrollment process. You'll need a reliable internet connection and a professional home workspace - and MVA provides a laptop and monitor to set you up for success. Regular virtual meetings and check-ins keep our team connected, energized, and aligned on the families we serve.
Why This Work Matters
Every enrollment you complete is a student gaining access to an education that fits their life. Every conversation you have can be the turning point for a family weighing their options. If you're ready to combine sales savvy with a heart for education - and you want your daily work to translate directly into higher graduation rates and brighter futures - we want to hear from you.
Our Commitment
My Virtual Academy is an equal-opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every team member can do their best work.
