Job description

Nuclear Tool Tech/BWR Pole Handler is supporting reactor internals work Setting up and maintaining specialized tooling used to access and remove/install lower core barrel bolts.

  • Assembling underwater tooling, fixtures, torque tools, lifting devices, cameras, and positioning equipment.
  • Performing pre-job functional checks and mockups.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues with tooling during the evolution.
  • Assisting with reactor vessel and internals handling activities.
  • Supporting bolt removal, bolt installation, tensioning, and verification activities.
  • Working closely with reactor engineers, field supervisors, quality personnel, and radiation protection.
  • Maintaining tooling records and ensuring equipment complies with nuclear QA requirements.
The skill set requires:
  • Reading mechanical drawings.
  • Using precision measuring tools.
  • Troubleshooting equipment under schedule pressure.
